Charlene, You make it sound like there is no information from that area. Just wanted to help get folks interested from who may have an idea that their family came from the east but they don't know where. The Maritimes may be the answer. Just to collect the information a little, here are the test kit numbers that have some linkage to eastern Canada: 5301, 7287, 9421, 15574, 23751, 24485, 32243 I hope someone might see this and look at these DNA test results and wonder if their family is represented there. The results may be seen at: http://freepages.family.rootsweb.com/~crrking/mills/mills_dnar.htm Good luck all in your search and to those, who need "scholarships", there are no promises but let your needs be known here on the MILLS list and you never know what help might be available. One does not know of any Mills descendant of her line and the other did not respond to request to join. My William Mills lived in Canada East for about 25 years, he is kit 5250 and does not match anyone. He lived amoungst the loyist but I cannot prove he was one. But, as with most research, every answer raises many new questions. This is no exception. There is a hole in our information concerning the "Boston MILLS" There is also very thin information on the MILLS in eastern Canada where many loyalist fled to during the second half of the 18th century. Those who know there ancestors back into the original thirteen colonies may be surprised to find that they have DNA cousins in Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and other places. Please do what you can to encourage any male with the MILLS name to join our quest for the details of our family tree. I really believe there are a large number of MILLS living west of the original colonies who will discover their roots pass through Canada before they get to places like George of Long Island or John of Connecticut etc. Regards, Ray -----Original Message----- From: ChekWriter@aol.com [mailto:ChekWriter@aol.com] Sent: Friday, February 03, 2006 7:31 AM To: MILLS-L@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [MILLS] Mills, DNA, Boston, testing Re: Mills in Boston, MA area very early on. John MILLS is listed as moving on to Braintree. I have some of his family on my files, but so far none of them show any living MILLS descendants. That was John, Susan/Susannah, Mary, Recompense, Joy, Susannah, John Jr., Jonathan, James. Some of the George MILLS of Jamaica, LI NY, children are also listed as being born in Boston, MA, but do not know if that is correct. Maybe those researchers just mixed up the wrong Jonathan, etc., with the wrong John MILLS family. Also I have on another file, that the above John MILLS, is listed as the son of John and Mary MILLS of Lavenham, Suffolk,England. And that one too has the George of Jamaica, as their son. I am not much help here. Sorry. Pat cw The only thing that I can suggest that if you know of any of your cousins who are MALE MILLS and would like to participate, ask them to get a DNA kit and send it in for comparison to those already listed. Something may shake out of that great big MILLS Tree. ==== MILLS Mailing List ==== Check out other genealogy resources on the net at John Fuller's most helpful site http://www.rootsweb.com/~jfuller/gen_mail.html ============================== Search the US Census Collection.
