    3. I know you're looking for Martha Mills, not her husband, but if you're not familiar with the following, you might like to be. An excellent series of articles on the Denton family is in the NEW YORK GENEALOGICAL AND BIOGRAPHICAL RECORD, vols. 117 (1986), 120 (1989), 121 (1990), and 122 (1991). There are 11 installments, but I would think the earlier issues are the ones you would want. I did an article on Samuel 3 Mills (Samuel 2, George 1) who moved from Jamaica NY to Greenwich CT. He married, about 1693 Sarah Denton, daughter of Samuel and Mary (___) Denton of Jamaica. This cited the RECORD article, particularly 120 (1989):161, so that might be where you would find your Martha. Having done a lot of work on that Jamaica Mills family (though mostly on George's son Jonathan), I would guess that Martha was another child of Samuel 2 and his wife Susannah (Palmer) Mills. But she could be a granddaughter. Although George's son Jonathan had a wife named Martha, I never found that they had a daughter named Martha.Though it is possible. And George's son Zachariah left a will in 1696 naming daughters Abigail and Sarah, but no Martha. So I'm thinking Martha is probably a daughter or granddaughter of Samuel 2. However, Lewis Cook's list of possible children of Samuel (he supposedly had 16 children by one wife) does not include a Martha. But Cook only suggested names for 13. You might like to see Cook's work. It's on Family History Library microfilm 1,697,455. By the way, I doubt you will find anything reliable on Martha by searching the Internet. Helen Ullmann
