    1. Re: [MILLS] Mills of TN
    2. No I have not done that gene thing. I am not going to do a DNA test if it means trying to get blood. Maybe another way would work. Most of my kin stayed in york cty, ME...tho the newer generations did move alittle. I am not there yet...just trying to anchor down who my Dad's family is linearly. I do have the names and have most of the data too...but I have so much, now what. I will add it to Rudge's site...and move on. I also have th James Mason Hutchings line (dad's mom) and the francis cooke line. That ventures down to the Leonards/thompsons and that is a fun bunch too. Haven't gone past the direct line there either...tho I seem to be finding more to look at "out there" a ways. What I would like to find is a Mills' cousin that is close. The brother of my grampa had three sons and they have had children...the son's of course have died. I don't think my dad knew any of these folks ...leastways he NEVER talked about his family. I know there were cousins in Lowell, MA but they were not Mills.s...they were from his mom's side. And my Mom's sides are going to be very hard...that is always in the back of my mind too. Battan, Gruber, Clark......not alot of Battan's but alot of Clarks...and the mennonite grubers. ARGHHHH.. We are supposed ly linked by a great something grandfather of Wm Clarks who came down the river...but it has to be close to the top of that family so the link can't be made YET. I have been in contact with a distant cousin and she has other's that have all heard the same story. But how to get there...Census' doesn't really work after a time and I think the family was a poor farming family in the south...migrated to Illinois and some of that part we know. However, like my Dad's parents/grand...Mom's moved west from Illinois, SC and PA. I am too old. Hang in there and keep on truckin!! sally -------------- Original message -------------- From: ChekWriter@aol.com > Have you tried doing a search on one of the many genes sites, looking for > MILLS of those areas? > > Might bring up some names that which you are in search. > > Know that some of the MILLS left TN along with GIBSON and GULICK and went to > Ohio, may have left there and moved back down to TN and then places farther > south and west. > > Oh TN NC GA AL FL > Oh TN NC MO OK TX > > pat > cw > > > ============================== > Search the US Census Collection.
