Good afternoon all, In going through some old Mills files, I have found a piece put together by Allen Mills which is entitled "The History of the Mills Family, taken from the Mills History written by Fritz Haskell of Winchester, Illinois" and others. This starts with Generation Number One: 1. THOMAS MILLS, born in England, died in Boston, Mass. He married UNKNOWN in England. They are both buried in Mass. Child of THOMAS MILLS and UNKNOWN: WILLIAM MILLS, born abt. 1730, Mass. Generation Number Two: 2. WILLIAM MILLS, born abt. 1730, Died in Mass. Married UNKNOWN in Mass. Child of WILLIAM MILLS and UNKNOWN: JAMES MILLS, SR., born between 1770-1789, Boston, Mass., Died 7 Sept. 1832, Exiter, Scott County, Illinois. Generation Number Three 3 . JAMES MILLS, SR., Born between 1770-1780 in Boston, Mass. Died 7 Sept 1832, Exiter, Scott County, Illinois. 1st wife unknown (divorced) 2nd wife: Mary E. Derick, (Daughter of Ephraim Derick and Elizabeth Gustin) She was born 23 May 1787, in Clairemont, NH or Bethel, VT, and died in Jo DavIess Co. Illinois. Children of JAMES, SR and 1st UNKNOWN are: 1. James Mills, Jr., born 4 Mar 1798, Mass. 2. Alford (Alfred) Mills, born 11 June 1802, Mass. Children of James Sr. and Mary Derick: 3. Adaline L. Mills, born 18 Nov 1810, Batavia, Genesee Co. NY. 4. ALONZO DERICK MILLS, born 8 Dec 1812, Batavia, Genesee Co. NY. 5. Paulina E. Mills, born 6 June 1817, Batavia, Genesee Co. NY. 6. Ann Eliza Mills, born 18 Mar 1829, Morgan Co., Illinois. 7. Lafayette Mills, born 8 Jan 1828, Morgan Co., Illinois. It finally gets to my Alonzo Derick Mills. OK, now the $64 dollar question. Does this line belong to anyone and which DNA is it?
