I'm searching for information on this family who was in Skellingthorpe, Yorkshire, England in the 1841 census: 1841 Skellingthorpe Samuel MILLNES 35 Shepherd Anne 30 Charles 11 - christening record as MILNS - C031451 Susannah 8 - christening record as MILLS - C031451 Harriott 4 - christening record as MILLS - C031451 Hannah 3 John 1 Next door is listed: Mary MILLNES 70 Independent Joseph 35 AgLab George 30 AgLab Eliza 3 I believe that Hannah MILLS, age 3 in this census is the Hannah MILLS who married William KIRK in Q2 1859 after having a son Edward in 1856. RG9/2355/36 - 1861 census Skellingthorpe (just a few miles from Lincoln) William KIRK 25 AgLab, Saxilby Hannah KIRK 23 Skellingthorpe Edward Mills KIRK 4 Skellingthorpe Harriett KIRK 9m Skellingthorpe An Edward MILLS, age 16, emigrated to Canada in 1873 and is listed among the Home Children. I believe he then changed his name back to Edward KIRK who was my great-grandfather as this scenario agrees with family stories of him coming to Canada on his own at age 16 and his parents' names on his marriage license are listed as William & Hannah KIRK of Lincolnshire. Any help would be appreciated.
