Ontario it list early settlers from Nova Scotia. Jesse Mills,Stephen Mills another Mills(brother?) who came later was Peter Mills and his wife Phebe Williams. These families settled in Dunwich Twp. Elgin Co Ont. From Linden ,Cumberland Co NS. 1842 Dunwich census: Jesse Mills-farmer Stephen Mills-Cooper One of Peter Mills sons married into my family(Allen). Harding Mills born 1827 Linden, Cumberland Co NS. Married Lavinia Allen in Elgin Co Ont. Other families that came from NS(Cumberland Co) were Brown(Maccan) Fillmore(fox river-Linden)Foster-Allen(NB and Amherst, Cumb. Co.).Lumley(Southampton) Elgin County ontario OGS site has a pretty good listing of cemeteries online to check into. I am in no way a expert on the Mills family other than they came from Westchester Co New York originally, then split-up in Cumberland Co NS some moved to Linden area and Henry Mills who married one of John Lumleys daughters lived near Southampton, Cumberland Co NS. John Lumley and rest of family also moved from Southampton to Dunwich twp in 1819. The Mills ancestry site is also a pretty good spot to check into. Bruce
