Hello, Pat, and interested others: It appears according to Helen's research you (Pat) and she (Helen) are in conflict as to your descendancy from George. You give: George, Samuel, Samuel, Joseph, Elias, Elias, Richard, Jonathan, Elias, George Washington, Paul Elias. It appears that Helen is seeing the first two generations in a different perspective: George Mills & Rebecca [--?--] Jonathan Mills (b abt. 1673 & Martha Wood Joseph Mills (born by 1705) Elias Mills According to Helen, it looks like my William Mills I would be first cousin to your Elias, if your Joseph Mills and my Samuel Mills (according to Helen b abt. 1673) were brothers. I don't know if increasing DNA markers would show a clearer picture of relationship or not, but perhaps. I would appreciate your thoughts Helen and your's Pat. Descend from him Some have the con sense ces, that Samuel and Sarah DENTON MILLS are his parents. Others do not seem to agree that Sarah DENTON was his mother. Just list her as Miss and that is all. All I can say, is for the DNA stuff: go to _www.familytreedna.com_ (http://www.familytreedna.com) put in MILLS in the upper right hand corner in the search box. click search. Click on MILLS Click on the link for the DNA results page, go to the bottom of the page, then go down to my brother's DNA kit #33009, which my cousins and I believe George of Jamaica, LI NY is the progenitor of the MILLS of this line. My family MILLS, descends down through George, Samuel, Samuel, Joseph, Elias, Elias, Richard, Jonathan, Elias, George Washington, Paul Elias. Although we keep finding other MILLS, as listed on the DNA site, that I personally, nor my cousins have ever come across before as being part of this MILLS tree. Interesting, new mystery to be solved. Pat cw But of course, nothing is etched in stone, as genealogy is, and always be subject to new finds, and corrections. Documentation is the key. Good stuff, like church records, baptisms, land records, tax records, and any and all things else. ============================== Find your ancestors in the Birth, Marriage and Death Records.
