    3. Helen, What is your thinking as to why Samuel Mills (d 1744) would have a son Richard Mills (b by 1708) and then have a son, James Mills who also was called Richard, Jr. (alias James)? Is the only reference to his being called Richard, Jr. (alias James) in his father's will as far as you know? Your other information on Richard Jr. (alias James) (p. 21) appears to refer to him only as James and not Richard, Jr. Any clues to the name mystery? Audrey -----Original Message----- From: Helen S. It's in many libraries but is also available for sale at www.pictonpress.com. It was published by Newbury Street Press in 2002. Richard was the son of Samuel (but not of Abigail Smith -- error on p. 18), grandson of Jonathan and Martha (Wood) Mills and great-grandson of George Mills of Jamaica, Long Island. This is the only documented treatment of this Mills family in print and corrects several common errors and assumptions. Helen Ullmann
