To Jerry and List: Yes, some of the information on the family pages does give one pause. For death date, some put a "Y". Of course, as you say, they have been deceased for more than 300 years, I guess the obvious is there. For same, others put, UNKNOWN/UNK, well for me, I would think it would be better to leave it blank, instead of taking up all those bits/bites or whatever, space, again the obvious is there. You can always go back later on and fill it in when you find a reference that gives you the information. For me, my space is very precious, have little gigabytes, megabytes as it is. So do put in hopefully, what might be helpful at a later date. For sure when I went cross matching for my family MILLS of Dayton, Montgomery Co, Ohio, I found several researchers all had some of my family listed, but without accurate dates, they are using the WFT estimates. Plus or minus some years too. But I find them eventually, and just merge them together, especially when they have all the same children, wives, husbands, etc. Except the one time, I found on a site on the net, where the person who input her family information kept repeating the previous families children onto the next generation and down the line a couple more. That one I just totally 86't off my files. It was just too badly messed and I at that time, just could not concentrate to correct all the errors. John MILLS of England and Philadelphia, PA and Chester Co. PA family tree is one of those too. John is listed as 1687, 1688, and the son Thomas as 1712, 1713, 1714, and so forth. But for all intents the rest of the family is the same. Wives, children, their husband and wives too.(Some of these are listed on _www.familytreedna.com_ (http://www.familytreedna.com) under MILLS, a branch or two does track back to one of the John's. Samuel MILLS Jr and Sr of George of Jamaica, is also the same problem, 1630, 1631, 1632 or variations of same. And for the succeeding sons too. 1661, 1662, abt 1659. But the names the same. Have seen many others too, but when I saw that they were not leading me anywhere I put them off onto my MISC MILLS file, for later date cleanup and merging. But then again, is this not what "Genealogy" is all about. Finding, comparing, compiling and praying for a connection. Pat cw
