Hi Everybody, I am still searching how my Gfather Nathaniel J. Mills came to "Boston," in 1892 from Newfoundland. I have checked the Passenger lists and searched Steamship names that might give me a clue, no name listed. His Paper of Intent is not very legible. I am still searching for his brothers & sisters also in Old Perlican. His Year of Birth: 1869 in Old Perlican, Newfoundland. His parents are: Father, Hezekiah Mills, and Mother: Cornelia Green. Ancestry has the last name listed Nathanial Milk (This is incorrect) (Nathaniel J. Mills is his correct spelling. My Father was the only living sibling to survive until 1998 at the age of 89 years old. Before he passed away he did give me some information he knew and a lot of information was not spoken by his parents about family. My Dad passed away in 1998 and there is no more family left to ask these questions. If any one has information from Old Perlican (Hezekiah Mills, Nathaniel J. Mills father and Mother Cornelia (Green) Harris lived in Bonavista. The Harris' were born in Bonavista. The name goes way back in time in Newfoundland. I am hoping that we can figure the family out together. My Gmother is Mary Ann (Harris) Mills who was born in 1867 in Bonavista, Newfoundland. Her father Joseph Harris went Seal Fishing when she was 3 or 5 years old and she never saw him again as he went Seal fishing and an ice floe took him down into the Atlantic cold waters. Mary Ann had a sister named Fanny Harris. Nathaniel and Mary Ann Harris were married in Lynn, MA in 1892 as I was able to speak with the Rev. and she checked the records. They lived on Neptune Street in Lynn in 1982. The best man was Joseph Mills and John Mills was standing in for Mary Ann as a Witness. I refuse to give up on finding bits and pieces. My puzzle is slowly coming into view but I still have missing pieces. Hoping someone out has some information from Newfoundland to email me. The children were all born in Lynn, MA (6) which my Father was the youngest. I have checked the Grand Banks site - found fishing rooms only with the name. Cheerio for now, :) Vonni Mills M Cambridge, Massachusetts, USA
