I saw some info on the site regarding a Mills-Beals connection. Just for info, I have some pages from the book "Mills Family History" by Paul and Rodney Mills, date unknown, regarding a John Mills: "John Mills, born 1688 in PA, died 11-24-1760 in Rowan Co., NC, married 1708 in Chester Co., PA to Rachel Bates, born ca 1688, died 1740 Monacacy, MD. John married 2nd to Rebeckah Harrold (or Stefan or Wright). It is thought that John settled in VA in 1733/4, then he moved to Cane Creek Monthly Meeting in NC in 1752. Had 12 children. Children by first wife were: 1. Thomas Mills, b. 1709 Chester Co., PA, d. 9-10-1793 in Guilford Co., NC, m. 1-18-1730 in Hopewell Monthly Meeting, Frederick Co., VA but published in Monacacy, MD, Elizabeth Harrold, b. 3-10-1711, d. 9-9-1771, dau. of Richard and Mary Beals Harrold. Seven children. 2. John Mills, b. 1712 Chester Co., PA, d. 4-18-1794 Guilford Co., NC, m. 1732 in PA to Sarah Beals, b. 5-20-1713 PA, d. 9-9-1800 NC, dau. of John and Sarah Bowater Beals. Sarah was made a minister in the New Garden Meeting 9-28-1765. Nine children. 3. Hur Mills, b. 1714, d. 11-26-1761 in NC, married Rachel Harrold, b. 2-9-1721, dau. of Richard and Mary Beals Harrold. Seven children. 4. Henry Mills, b. 9-23-1720 PA, d. 10-10-1810 in NC, m. 1-18-1740 VA to Hannah Thornburg, d. 3-27-1791. Henry was appointed Overseer 2-22-1755 by the New Garden Meeting. Ten children. 5. Mary Mills, b. 1-7-1724 PA, married ca 1740 VA to William Beeson, b. 11-18-1721, d. 12-18-1760, dau. of Richard and Charity Grubb Beeson. Twelve children. Children of John Mills and 2nd wife were: 6. William Mills, b. 8-27-1742, d. ca 1774, married Rebecca who died ca 1806. William was born in VA, died in SC. He was disowned in 1763 for attending the marriage of his sister Rebeckah to a non-member. Seven children. 7. Rebeckah Mills, b. 12-15-1744/5, married 1763 Henry Humphries, NC. Henry with six others was hung on a post oak limb near Hillsborough at the Regulation battle in 1771. 8. George Mills, b. 10-8-1747 VA (twin) 9. Benjamin Mills, b. 10-8-1747 VA (twin) 10. Alice Mills, b. 6-22-1750 11. Tabitha Mills, b 4-8-1753 NC 12. Jonathon Mills, b. 5-14-1757 NC Further info in the book indicates that Aaron Mills, born 12-22-1749, d. 12-15-1794, son of Henry and Hannah Thornburg Mills, married 1-18-1774 to Charity Mendenhall, 1-19-1754, d. 2-19-1836, dau. of Mordecai and Charity Beeson Mendenhall. Aaron and Charity in turn had 11 children, one of whom was Isaac Mills, born 3-29-1786, d. 12-29-1835, married 7-27-1811 to Rachel Beals who was born 1793. The 13 children shown for Isaac and Rachel Beals were Priscilla, Nancy Ann, John Bales, Harcifa, Henry L., Polly, Owen, L.Jain, William A., Isaac Clarkson, Charity Mariah, Rachel Emily and Juliann Mills.
