My John Washington Mills is my GGGrandfather and is first found listed in the census in Smith County, Tennessee in 1850 living with his parents (John and Martha) and siblings. Parents John and Martha are listed as being born in Virginia. John Washington Mills married Sarah Gorden (Salley) Pullum and they moved from Tennesse to Illinois, finally settling in Malden, Missouri, where they both are buried. They had seven sons. One son, Jennings Bates Mills, is my GGrandfather, his son Alonzo Calvin Mills is my grandfather, his son Alonzo Jackson Mills is my father. Jennings Bates Mills moved his family to Texas in 1900. Does anyone recognize this John Mills or this line of Mills?
