Mills named Charles and they called him Charlie (or Charley?). Last night, I phoned my mother, the grand-daughter of Mary Frances Mills (younger sister of Charles B. by 7 years). She recalls being age 7-10 years old (1930-1933) when the nephew (grand-nephew?) of her grandmother (MF Mills) was DYING OF MALARIA IN A HOSPITAL IN ST LOUIS, MISSOURI. Surprisingly, she was brought in to see him - she recalls him as being middle aged. He was a SINGLE man working as an ENGINEER ON THE PANAMA CANAL and he contracted malaria which ultimately killed him in St. Louis sometime in that 1930-1933 era. You might find a Missouri obituary about that time. I DO have corroborated information about the parents of Charles B. Mills back a few generations, if you want it. My grandfather (son of Mary Frances Mills) was named Charles B. Davis - now I know that he was most likely named after the older brother of his mother, Charles B. Mills who lost his left arm in the Civil War and moved to Arkansas when age 27 with his parents, then married one year later. It also corroborated information that I had and gave me new information for my research. My family moved to Colorado in the 1970's from St. Louis. Where do you live? Also, I am waiting to hear back from a relative (a 'Lisa') who purchased a Mills Family Bible from the late 1800's in the past six months, so perhaps we will learn more through that.
