Bernard "Jeff" Jeffers Posted: Thursday, Dec 22, 2005 - 02:20:50 pm PST COLUMBIA BASIN HERALD, MOSES LAKE, WASHINGTON STATE. Bernard "Jeff" Jeffers, 91, a 53-year Moses Lake resident, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 21, 2005. Interment will be in Pioneer Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are in care of Kayser's Chapel of Memories. Bernard was born on July 31, 1914 in Hartline, the son of the late Louis E. and Alice E. (Mills) Jeffers. Bernard Louis "Jeff" Jeffers and Julia Grubrsich married on May 17,1944 in Seattle. They briefly made their home in Seattle before moving to San Diego, while he was serving in the U.S. Marines. Following his honorable discharge from the Marine Corps, they purchased a farm in Ellensburg and continued farming there until moving to make their home in Moses Lake in 1953. They owned and operated "Jeff's Lawnmower and Tool Service" in Moses Lake, where they have since continued to make their home. He is survived by three children: Lois Jae Smith, Baggs, Wyo., Patricia Ann Thoren, Moses Lake and Patrick Michael "Mike" Jeffers, Dayton; six grandchildren: Debbie Rodewald, Craig, Colo., Claudia Fyock, Denver, Colo., Douglas Smith, Baggs, Wyo., Beth Shorma, Baggs, Wyo., James Fletcher, Moses Lake, Devin Jeffers, Dayton; 13 great-grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and one sister.
