I really don't think George Mills of Jamaica had any connection with Yorkshire. This is based on his residence in Hempstead, Long Island where Rev. Richard Denton arrived in 1644. Denton was from Yorkshire, but there is no reason to assume George came with him. Nicholas Tanner was from Dorsetshire. Since George evidently had a connection with him, it's much more likely he came from the West Country, about as far from Yorkshire as you can get and still be in England. So I'm also sceptical about that possible Lavenham, Suffolk, connection. Where's the evidence???? Helen Ullmann > >
