Hi Lori Right we are of the George B: ca 1585/1605 of Jamaica, LI NY USA, from ? Yorkshire England. so the many other researchers and ancestral file gleanings on the LDS web site. >From DNA testing, Samuel, George, John, Lewis, Abraham, William all match on the DNA web site. _www.familytreedna.com_ (http://www.familytreedna.com) under MILLS. category 600 and 600a. My and Barbara's family MILLS are of George Washington MILLS B: 1857 Montgomery Co. OH married Grace E GREEN B: 1884 AR, Their sons, Paul Elias and David Ogden being brothers. his father Elias MILLS - Julia Ann HEFFNER his father Jonathan MILLS - Phebe REEDER his father Richard MILLS - 1. Martha BARHAM 2. Catherine MORGAN his father Elias MILLS Jr - Chloe STITES His father Elias MILLS Sr - Martha STILES his father Joseph MILLS - Sarah of Westfield, Essex Co. NJ USA. >From Helen S ULLMAN's book published 2002 for a client of the NEGHS, Says that Samuel MILLS gave land to Joseph is son in Elizabeth town, Essex Co. NJ. page 83 of her book. So that ties our family line in to her book and that of the George MILLS of Jamaica, LI NY, USA and formerly of ? Yorkshire England. For George depends on which data base you may find, and or other gene sites, has him from Devon and Dorset as well. I have joined genesreunited.com which is a n England based gene site. But so far no hits on George as yet. In my inept and bumbling stumbling way have tripped over the Abraham was brother to an Elizabeth MILLS dau of John of PA, and sister to Seela, Issac, John. 1. John MILLS - Rebecca SMITH family of Sussex Co. NJ USA had son (Removed from NJ to Grimsby, ON CAN ca 1793/94). 2. John MILLS - Permelia SEELEY/SEELY had son 3. Seela MILLS - Elizabeth COLLARD. and 3 other infant children not named. But probablty had more children and possibly more wives with more children, thus ELizabeth B: ca 1800 PA. Elizabeth MILLS above noted married Job SLAGHT Jr. son of Job SLAGHT and ELizabeth JOHNSON. Elizabeth was his second wife. These information from Portrait and Biographical Album of Northern Michigan, page 257, spotlights that of their son Silas SLAGHT. Kind of puts that family together. Thus links too the MILLS - SLAGHT - JOHNSON** - SUTTON - MARTIN - BISHOP - TYLER families of New Jersey as well. 1. John MILLS - Rebecca SMITH had dau 2. Rachel MILLS who married Robert GRAHAM of PA, listed as son of Andrew GRAHAM. as well as several other of John's children in PA with related other allied families. So that does put those MILLS families in PA at one time. Lewis MILLS - Emeline HAMILTON have yet to find parents. John MILLS - Rebecca SMITH still not yet concrete parents for him either. Possible parents are many from the webiste MILLS ANCESTRY done by a Micheal MILLS of Hines, VT> at some time in the past. MILLS ANCESTRY found on geocities.com web site. Still seeking his parents from one and all out there in MILLS LAND. ** JOHNSON - MORGAN - COMPTON - MILLS links. William F JOHNSON son of Joseph JOHNSON and Eve STOKER married Eliza MILLS dau of Jonathan MILLS - Phebe REEDER above noted Montgomery Co OH USA above noted. Eliza was his 3rd wife. Joseph and Eve also had son Daniel who married Margaret MORGAN dau of Samuel MORGAN and Martha COMPTON per Comptonology genealogy web site information. So am also wondering if Samuel MORGAN family might be related to Catherine MORGAN who married Richard MILLS above noted, father to Jonathan MILLS, my line of MILLS. sorry if I am beating a dead horse on this tac. Just trying to be concise as my poor little grey cells let me. Cous Pat In a message dated 12/13/2008 10:05:16 P.M. They had Mary, Robert, Thomas, Peter, Jane, Elizabeth and Elsie MIlls. I descend through their daughter Mary Mills b 1777 who married James Braisted. Thanks for reminding me about the county lines. I reread the 1763 NJ petition I have for Robert Mills of Sussex County. He lived in Greenwick, Oxford, Woodhouse or Knowlton Townships which I think are all now located in Warren County. I will have to plan a trip there to do research. I usually hunt for information in Sussex County. Which Mills family do you belong to? Wife and children's names, etc. his father/? Of Hunterdon Co. NJ USA. Remember the county lines changed like water over the brook, back in those days. So do not pass up any MILLS refernces might still be related in directly to one of the several MILLS bunch who were in the area surrounding. Cous Pat cw In a message dated 12/13/2008 5:41:24 P.M. The lot was 1/2 of Lot # 8 located on the north side of the second mountain in Bernards Township, Somerset County. The other 1/2 Lot was owned by Jeremiah Mills. Deed Book "I" page 464, on 4 June 1816, John and Anna Mills of Westfield Township, Essex County, NJ sold 2 3/4 acres and 3 square rods to Joseph Linns for $75.00. The wooded lot was located in Bernards Township, Somerset County. The lot was next to the lot of William Mills. If you would like a copy of either deed, please let me know. I am sure that you will enjoy reading the 200 year old handwriting. These are not my Mills family members as far as I know. My earliest ancestor is Robert Mills of Hunterdon/Sussex County, NJ.
