I have a Josephine McCormick Martin that I found abt 1930 in Scot Plains and have all the information on her that I need. Her father and my granduncle Rev. Charles Wesley McCormick, Josephine's father was President of Centeneial College in Hacketstown, NJ and wrote some books which are on the internet. Just some background. I applied to the DAR for membership on Josephine application in 1929 stating her gggfather was Bernard McCormick, gg father was Hiram, gf was Rev. William H McCormick and father Rev. Charles Wesley. They rejected my application was rejected on Bernard where the DAR comes into fact with his wife family. They want proof of Bernard. I found his death in Essex Co. but can't find his birth or his parents. This is the nuts but they say Bernard may have been a plant which was a common practice of the times. Wondering if you had any names alike Bernard, Hiram in Scot Plains in early 1800. My Hiram was married in Morris Co. NJ to Ginnette Munroe 1828. He had a shoemaker business from abt 1840 until his death 1892. Any help would be appreciated. Guess you knw i'm digging. Thanks, Justine McCormick Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
