thank you Sally. I know that this happens all the time, but just never knew it was going to do to me. One just never knows. And in my moment of weakness, I accepted the offer of help, and just had no inkling at all that such would transpire. Really aprpeciate your kind words. When my Dad was dying, his eldest brother (the stuffed shirt from CT) came out to visit..ah yes visit...Daddy was two weeks from dying I think. This uncle took it upon himself to clean out family stuff which was not really his to do..but he burned so much history from the Mills/Hutchings side of the family. BURNED history, burned letters home from my uncle who was in the US Maps department and behind enemy lines in Germany doing that job, burned history of his mom's family..and left my sister and I with nothing. Daddy hadn't discussed family with us and I was too young to ask..I think I would be very nasty to this man if he was alive. If I had recognized what he was doing, I could have put that stuff in the car and taken it to a friend of my sister's for safe keeping. Unfortunately I was in too much of a quandry..and didn't know enough. So I understand the heart ache and the frustration and sadness. I also did not talk to him again for about 20 years and then it was to be civil. He is the one who missed out in that relationship. Fortunately there is alot written about my Mills side and Hutchings side, but some of the gritty stuff...well I would like to have had that. sally ----- Original Message ----- From: <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Sunday, December 14, 2008 12:54 PM Subject: Re: [MILLS] Mills-Ambrose Mills - Phalby Williams > Hi Jeanne > > A person named Joanne sent me this informatin in an email back in 2006. > > I believe I also read it somewhere on the net and or on microfilms at one > time, way back when I began my quest for my family MILLS of Dayton, > Montgomery > Co.
