The Robert Mills in my line I think came from Ireland. His wife Mary Carleton did come from Ireland and sailed with her family about 1711. Her father died on the ship and was burried at sea. They were Quakers and lived in Chester Co Pa where Robert and Mary were married. Later moved to York Co Pa and descendents moved to Indiana and later Illinois in 1844 which is where I grew up. Although I know of some Mills families in the Carolinas, Tenn and Ga I have never been able to make a connection. I have been able to trace the Carleton line to England about 1590 but unable to locate any of Robert Mills ancestors. Do you have dates on any of the Mills line in your research?
