This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Author: ChekWriter Surnames: Mills Tanner Smith Brown Morehead Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.mills/5591.2.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Hi Gloria and Lara Yes, can do so. http://www.geocities.com/heartland/8496/9/pafg10.htm takes you to the site with this family listed on it. Again, do not know when it was compiled or by whom?> But it seems to be the main stay, beginning of this MILLS Family line in America, via George and Rebecca TANNER MILLS of Jamaica, LI NY. USA. For the John MILLS - Rebecca SMITH line, George BROWN seems to feel that this web site lists him as the son of Andrew MILLS and Sarah MOREHEAD. However, from this page, when click back one gneration up line, find that there are other men who might also have been John's parents. But from the genetic level, have found that one son listed as that of Andrew does not match to the category of 600 and 600a on the www.familytreedna.com under MILLS web site. http://freepages.family.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~crrking/mills/mills_dnar.htm go to DNA results page. Lists those Ancestor MILLS Men. Click on ancestor name take to pedigree as submitted with DNA sample for paper trail. My data base on www.rootsweb.ancestry.com is chekwriter. My cousins whose work has been a lot more extensive and in depth than mine is :1391008. Also have a small data base on www.gencircles.com as MyFamily2005 lists my immediate family and that of my husband's side of the tree trunk. George and Rebecca are listed on many other databases on same web site, as well as many other gene sites. Since we are all using each others work to try to find our direct line for our most furthest back ancestor, we can only prove each of our lines individually. Going by the DNA results, does help to shake out which are the true MILLS descendants. The Paper trail can be clouded, through adoptions, illegitmacy, and so forth. Some mutation does occur, but not sure if those differences are all that glaring. see other MILLS above our category (600-600a) on that web site. Most of the markers not of a magenta color, match across the board. I can only vouch for my immediate research of Dayton, Montgomery Co. OH USA back to Joseph and Sarah MILLS of Westfield, Essex Co. NJ USA to their son Elias MILLS, who married Martha STILES, and his son ELias MILLS Jr who married Chloe STITES. Their wills from the NJ Caldendar of Wills. Also their losses by the British and Colonists during the Revolutionary War, their claim for retribution. Witnessed and substaniated by their sons David and Elias, and daus Sarah, and Patience. Be happy to help where ever or what ever I can. Cous Pat cw Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
