He might have had a sister (Mary?), it is uncertain. He did however have a good classic education. He may have run away to sea and served on the Olivebank when it was a sailing ship. He may have been in the Royal Navy during the time of the Russian Revolution. He married a Louisa Taylor in West Ham in 1919. If this sounds like a connection to your family please let me know.
