Good Morning Helen, Thank you for the suggestion, I'll make sure to pay attention to that. Three of the searches I tried were census year specific, since I'm looking for some (non-Mills) names that I only have the state of birth from later census indices to go on. Last weekend I found some indices that had the names, but yesterday I got the, dreaded, message that it didn't exist. Seems to be working now though. I just tried again and BINGO, there they were. Probably just bugs to be worked out of their new system. Thanks, Lyn In a message dated 1/15/2009 7:35:17 A.M. I've noticed a couple of times recently that when I open Ancestry and search, I get the other sorts of results, which I don't like either. When you go to Ancestry, look to see whether the little box titled "Exact matches only" is checked. It's located under the tab for "Historical Records." Make sure it's checked and try your search again.
