I can't find any siblings as of yet. Only possiblities. Found Roberts father's name on death certificate as Orlando Mills (NY) . Found Orlando in 1840 NY census between age of 20 & 30 , but couldn't get any other info from census. Don't know if Orlando had any siblings either as he disappears between 1840 & 1850. Don't know if he died or what. Found a woman ,with Orlando as the father of her gggrandfather William O Mills , but hers & mine had different mothers. Figuring he possibly was a philanderer or something. Doesn't look like Orlando married Robert's mother either as I found Robert and his mother Mary Hiller in a 1850 NY census living with her parents or grandparents. Her maiden name was listed as her last name, though Robert's was Mills. Orlando wasn't married to the other woman either that I have found. Though both of our Orlando's were in pretty much the same area about the s! ame time. Sorry wish there was a connection. If there is I don't have it. Thanks for asking. Keep me posted if you think we can connect Susan

Your's is the first connection that I have known of with roots to NH. Any help would be appreciated.

I have wondered the location of the Mills' that I hear are buried in one of the Blue Rapids or other local cemeteries. I go to Frankfort/Berrett often, but haven't located those Mills' graves. My line is buried in the Barrett Cemetery. Also kin in Reedsville, Mt. Hope, Moodyville, Frankfort cemeteries. I am supposed to have a great grandmother buried in the "Baptist Cemetery" that I believe is located 1 mile straight north of the Reedsville Cem., but haven't found a stone or the locals who might have a list of those buried there.

They did not put any place names, so do not know if that is in your area of search. I did read with interest that at some point in New Jersey some settlers were bilked out of their money and land by unscrupulous politicians, and they left New Jersey and went to the Carolinas. Unfortunately, it did not say which North or South. I wonder if your William MILLS might have been one of them. June 10 1697, a John MILLS of Fairefield, ( I assumed CT, but could also be NY) signed a purchase agreement for land from the West Jersey Society. This item of information was posted as a reference on the John MILLS B: 1733, Rebecca SMITH as wife, by Mr. Richard Dilts. I wrote to the NJ State Archives at Trenton, and they sent me copies of those page numbers of reference. But the archivist did not believe that they could be the same person. If the John MILLS in 1697 was already an adult, say 30, and if the John B: 1733, would have made him over 63 years old at his birth. Really do not think the father, but could have been the grand father. I wrote to Mr. Dilts, but to date have not heard back from him. So do not know what his link was to reflect. Some of the MILLS of SC did however, go to the Northwest Territory at the opening of that area about 1788 with Major Benjamin Stites, and the settlers were from NJ, MD, NY, and other places. Not sure if that is of any help. pat cw

    1. MILLS, Daniel P.
    2. Hi All, I am looking for any information on the following Daniel P. Mills and his family who appear in the 1830 & 1840 census for Tunkhannock Township/Luzerne County (now Wyoming County) as below. I am unable to locate them in any other census. My great-great-grandmother was Louisa Mills Williams and she was "from Tunkhannock" in Luzerne (now Wyoming) County when she married in 1843. She would fit into these age brackets. I would like to hear from anyone who has any information whatsoever on this family. Thanks, Carol 1830 Tunkhannock Township / Luzerne County Census shows Daniel P. Mills living there with the following inhabitants: Males: 1 between ages 5 & 10; 1 between ages 10 & 15; 1 between 40 & 50. Females: 2 under 5 years of age; 1 between 5 & 10; 1 between 10 & 15; 1 between 30 & 40. 1840 Tunkhannock Township / Luzerne County Census shows Daniel P. Mills living there with the following inhabitants: Males: 2 between ages 5 & 10; 1 between 15 & 20; 1 between 60 & 70. Females: 2 between ages 10 & 15; 1 ages between 15 & 20; 1 between 20 & 30; 1 between 40 & 50.

My descendent base born. He, too, is named William, as well as seven others down the line. My Willilam was born in Dundee, Scotland 1747. James' obituary states he was born north of England. I guess in proper circles it was not polite to admit you were Scottish. William sent his sons Thomas and Henry to Scotland for schooling after the Revolutionary War to Thomas Mills, an architect. I have not found him either.
