    2. Larry Mills
    3. Looking for the Eric that wrote the message below. Larry Mills I presume you have in your data base Holland Mills and Sara Adalaide Miller? These are the ones I am related to by blood line. Parents of Holland are John Anderson Mills and Eliza (?) and after John died, she married and Elijah Wolf . Hollands siblings were Hiram, George A., Viola, Mary and Laura. Hiram and Holland married sisters, Sara and Mary B. Miller whose parents were Charles Wesley Miller and Dalphia (or Delphia) Malicoat. If, indeed, these are people of whom you are speaking, we certainly have a lot to talk about. So, let me know! Eric

    3. Tammy, Have you searched on the internet for "out of print" books. I have been lucky and bought both volumes of The Dodson Family, The Secret Diary of William Byrd, The Shumate Family, The Ancestry and Descendants of William Riley Shumate. You probably will not recognize these titles, but they were all out of print books. I bought them from Barnes & Nobles, Amazon, and Silverfish. Good luck in your endeavors, Hazel Scanned for viruses by Blue Coat http://www.WinProxy.com/

    3. Nancy and Suzanne, The time frame could be right for me, am interested in the Abigail Mills, of whom wrote in your message of June 3rd. I have a "large" brick wall, so am grasping at straws here. You stated Abigail named one of her sons John. Could possibly be after a brother? I have John Mills b 1812 OH/NY married Hannah Cutchall 1844 in Marion Co., OH. Their first child I know of was born in MI in 1849/50 in MI. Several other children were born in OH after 1850. My question is, do you have any dates for Abigail's birth, where born in OH, etc? I have no info on John as to his parents or exactly he where he was born. Do you think any of this fits together with your line? Hoping you have some "good" news for me. :-) Marilyn

    3. Tammy, Do you have a name a birth date for your relative? Sorry I have no information on the Globe Church, but a quick history of the NC geography might help. Many of John Mills Sr. b ca 1687/8 moved to Orange Co. in 1752/3. They were in Wilks, Surry, Roan, Guilford and Orange Counties. However, most of them never moved - but the county boarders did move. 3. The history of John Mills Sr, and his first five children, plus. Rumors, Myths & Facts. On the Mills DNA, group 540 tracks to this linage...... If anyone has any additional information or source information, please let me know as this is a long time brick wall for many Mills' researchers. As most members know I tend to focus on facts and reputable sources. I do not have any problems when others speculate on names, dates and relationships....as long as they are documented as a speculation or a best guess. I have many unproven ideas, that I really like....just no way to confirm or disprove them. I started my research in 1981, and have been fortunate to meet many Mills researcher's and writers that have shared their work and allegiance to reputable sources. John Mills Sr, born ca. 1687/8, most likely in England, no proof. John and his descendants were devoted Quakers and are well documented in all of there moves from MD, VA, NC, TN, OH, OH, and west The following are undocumented claims! 1. John Sr. was born in PA, no proof, if true we should find at the least one Quaker record. 2. John Mills and Sarah HARROLD of PA were his parents, no proof 3. John Mills and Mary KENION from Oldham England were his Grandparents, no proof. 4. His first wife was Rachel Bates, this item can be discredited based on son Thomas' wedding document. 5. The names STEFAN and WRIGHT also show up as wives, no proof. John Sr's first wife was Rebeckah, only one fact has been found, her signature on son Thomas' wedding document in 1730. We know she died after 18 Mar 1730, Thomas Mills wedding date and before 1742, birth of William by John Sr's second wife Rebeckah. John Sr's second wife was also Rebeckah, based on three items; 1. the release of her dower in 1743 on property transactions, 2. 2nd wife Rebeckah and 7 children listed in Quaker records, Hinshaw Vol I, p510 3. John Sr's will in 1759. The will also mentions the five children of his first wife, but no name. The Children of John Sr and first wife Rebeckah were; 1. Thomas b. 1709, 2. John Jr b. 27 Oct 1712, 3. Hur b. 1714, 4. Henry b. 23 Sep 1720, 5. Mary b. 29 Mar 1724.
