Jo and List Could this family be part of the Luke MILLS family of NH/VT, has James ELLISON MILLS, etc. in the line. You listed on your previous post with Gary Shaver that Benjamin might have been born in VT? back in Jan and July last year. Pat cw
Have you tried doing a search for an Alonzo D and Derrick/Derick Mills on the various genealogy sites with a father as James and mother Mary D or Derrick/Derick/DeRich in or near where they lived? Lots of James and John's but still no links on any of my files. Just noticed that MILLS married AXTELL and later AXTELL married DERRICK wonder if the DERRICK who married a MILLS might somehow be related in that family line? Maybe do a sort on those surnames and see what turns up? Pat cw

They may not have any living descendants, I was hoping to find one. I haven't ever looked at their estate records, guess I should. I only found their son Charles in one census, no telling where he went or when or where he died. I had some things going on, and haven't really even been able to look at what you all sent me on the Mills. Renee
James Ellison Mills was born in ME. Died in San Fernando, Durango, Mexico in 1901. His first wife, the mother of his children was Mary Collier from NY. His second wife Jane Breed Dearborn was born in NY , founded a private girls school in Orange, NJ. and married Mills in 1894. I don't believe they are kin of the Mills being pursued here. -------------- Original message -------------- From: chekwriter@AOL.COM > This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. > > Surnames: Mills > Classification: Query > > Message Board URL: > > http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/jE1.2ACEB/3575.2.1 > > Message Board Post: > > James ELLISON MILLS is of the Luke MILLS family. Don and List: I noticed that James' wife parents were from VT/NH. Could this James MILLS be part of the MILLS of that area, rather than NY? There was a John MILLS who married an Abigail MINARD and they removed from that area up to Canada. Possibly your James was part of those family MILLS? Also of note is Abraham MILLS, who married Elizabeth LOUKS, her parents also were from VT. Could be related? Not sure exactly where Abraham and Elizabeth married, but they are found in Charlotteville, ONT, CAN. Sorry I cannot be of more help other than asking questions, as I have mostly concentrated my research to Ohio and New Jersey. Now of course, I am also looking for any links possible to any MILLS, where they might intersect with mine. (And now by way of DNA, still actively searching that way too.) Pat cw
