Hawkins County, TN. Book 4 Page 30 Conveyances: Peter Miller to James Charles, Jun. Registered October 29 of 1808 Know all men by these present, that I Peter Miller of the state of Tennessee and County of Hawkins for and in consideration of the natural love and affection which I have for my dauter Darky Charles wife of James Charles, Junior hast given and by these present doth give and grant unto the said James Charles, Junior and his heirs forever a certain land or parcel of land lying in the south side of the Holsten River and bounded as follows. Beginning at a Box Elder and Elm in the River Bank being a corner of James Ingram's land then with said Ingram line South Seventy Nine East Two Hundred and Sixty Five poles to a stake, then North ten East Thirty-five poles to a stake, then North seventy five west one hundred and eighty-five poles to a _____hickory and sweet Gum. Then North twenty one West Sixty poles to a bunch of dogwood in the River bank then down the river to the beginning. Containing by estimation eighty nine acres more or less. Being part of two grants and granted to Peter Miller for two hundred and fifty ____acres? and conveyed to said Peter Miller the seventh day of December One Thousand seven hundred and nintey-five the other granted to the said Peter Miller the sixteenth day of July One thousand seven hundred and ninety five and the reversion and reversions and remainder and remainers his to have and to hold the said track of land and all singular to the aforementioned and all and every part and parcel thereof with this apertures unto the said James Charles, Junior and his heirs forever and I said Peter Miller for myself and my heirs doth hereby warrant and defend the right_____I said ___unto said James Charles, Junior and his heirs in witnesses whereof and the said Peter Miller doth hereto set my hand and affixed my seal this twenty fourth day of December One Hundred eight hundred and two.
