    1. [MILLER-L] George V. MILLER - Marengo Illinois
    2. Hello all, I need to know the parents & siblings of George V. Miller, born 1811 in New York state (or Pennsylvania??). George married Elvira Owen in 1843 somewhere in New York state and had 9 children: Alice, John G, Joseph, Carrie, Clara, Alta, Sadie, Byron and Henry. This family is on 1850and 1855 census records in Wales and East Aurora, Erie County NY. By the 1860 Federal census, the family had moved to Marengo, McHenry County, Illinois where they remained until George died in 1871 and Elvira died in 1910. Most of the children resided in Marengo, Belvidere and Chicago, all in Illinois. Joseph moved to Muscatine Iowa and had many children; Henry moved to Lake Geneva Wisconsin. It is possible that George is related some way to Amelia (Miller) Bradley whose husband was County Clerk in Boone County Illinois in the 1850's and 1860's. One source states that Amelia was also from East Aurora, Erie County, NY. If I can connect George to Amelia, then it is possible that George's father is John Miller (who had brothers Olliver and Waterbury), but this is all speculation at this point. I am descended from Alice who married William John Meehan in the 1860's and were parents of my great grandfather, James Adelbert Meehan. I have quite a bit of information on this Miller family and will gladly share info with others in this line. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Kay Waterloo [email protected]
