Miller born in 1828 near Albany, New York, he married Sarah Jane Rice, January 6th 1853 in Morgan County, Illinois. Before his marriage to Sarah he lived in Sangamon County according to his marriage license. They resided in Waverly, Morgan County, Illinois and had the following children: William, Edward, John, Charles Wesley Miller, (Charles married Narcissa Ashbaugh) Laura, Leona, Mary.
