Charles, Thanks for all your help and hard work! I'm looking for information regarding the parents of Josiah Cooper Miller, who was born around 1857 in Indiana. According to the 1920 Census, he was divorced and living with his son, Cooper J and daughter, Josephine. I think his ex-wife and the mother of these children was Florence Tilford (not sure about the spelling). Divorce was rare in those days and I wonder what happened. According to the census data, Josiah Cooper Miller was born in Indiana. His father was born in PA and is mother was born in OH. Josiah Cooper Miller had a brother named William, who was born around 1844. They both ended up in Kansas where Josiah Cooper Miller was a farm laborer on William's farm (info from addition Census data). Josiah Cooper Miller's son, also named Josiah Cooper Miller (but both seem to have been called Cooper) was born in 1902 in Colby, KS and married Iris Kinkade who was also from KS. They later moved to St. Louis, MO where they had my grandfather Jack Charles Miller in 1930. Jack married Dorthie Maxine Tincknell and had 12 children but he died in 1960. Ultimately, I'm looking for any additional information on the first Josiah Cooper Miller as this is as far back as I can trace my heritage.
