    3. Without knowing what platform you're on, what scanner and OCR program you're using, there's not too much I can advise you with relative assurance. I've not yet found ANY OCR program that approaches 100 percent reliability. My best luck has been with OmniPage (I'm on a Mac and was using an HP IIcx scanner under System 9 at the time). One avenue you might explore is Adobe's Acrobat -- the full version, not just the free Reader. This has the benefit of retaining the scanned image for display, with full, searchable text as a sort of sub-layer. The text can be exported... and you have the original image to cross-check anything that looks suspiciously erroneous.
