    3. My John Jacob Miller is still my puzzle--my German-born ggggrandfather. Family lore says he was a Hessian soldier who remained in this country after the Revolution, settling in the part of Virginia which later became Scott County. At least that is where his son Jacob was born in 1795. The old John Jacob, with Jacob's young family, moved through Tennessee to Indiana in 1840s. There should be a burial for the old John Jacob's wife, as apparently she did not accompany them to Indiana. I suspect Jacob had siblings, but I haven't been able to tie any to him. Any help appreciated. Arless
