Shirley, I did find Daniel & Nancy in the 1880 census for Oswego Co, NY There is also a Delavan living with them which is their son. D. C. MILLER 57, farmer, keeps house, born NY, parents born NY Nancy 57, wife, keeps house, born NY, parents born NY Delevan 21, son, farmer, born NY also living with them is a boarder with the name Sparrowhawk Minnie 22, school teacher, born NY, parents born NY I also did find the Delavan which you have in the 1880 census which I thought was yours, but your Delavan is still single and living with Daniel & Nancy. Most likely the other Delavan is related, possibly a cousin to your Delavan. (The name is too unusual...not to be related.) My guess is Daniel's brother also had a son named Delavan which is the one living with Ella/Ellen & son Jacob in the 1870 & 1880 census.
