I have a Hannah Jones in my Miller tree. Also an Amanda, but I think she was Hannah's mother or aunt? I think Jones was Hannah's married name. Some of my Miller's are missing in action and very frustrating. Mine were born near the border of Missouri and one of the other states. Could be Indiana? Peter Miller was my gg grandfather, census says he was from Prussia. He married Dorthula Gibbony in 1865 in one of the border cities in Missouri. The 1870 census says his first son,Thomas Herbert Miller was born in Ind. However, they were in Mo. on the census. In 1872 my g grandmother Lottie was born and by 1880 she and her brother were orphans living in two different Mo. counties with friends of the father. Their mother was dead and the father, Peter Miller said he was returning to Germany. I know that he did not. He is on the census by himself after that until 1900. Somehow Lottie ended up in a house full of other Millers in Madison Co. Mo. in 1890. There are no census records for then. She married her neighbor George Moore. Letters from his family speak of her living in the house with the other Millers. By 1900 she and her new husband are in Mississippi Co. Mo with her brother, Thomas H. Miller. They had to have had a way to communicate and find each other. On the 1900 census in that house full of Millers in Madison Co. Mo. are Hannah Jones, Amanda Miller, George Miller,Catherine and more. It was a boarding house. On a recording that one of my Moore ancestors left before he died at age 94, he described town history that he recalled. He mentioned that Amanda Miller(widowed) and her drunken brother Dodie who lived in a little house behind her. That is all I know of my Millers, but thought I would relate it to you since you also mentioned two names that I had. It would be great if we made a connection but I have almost given up hope. Oh, Thomas Herbert Miller and wife Clara moved to Detroit at some point. They had five kids in the 1920s. Karen Moore Kerr __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
