    2. Hi, ALL! Marquis D. MILLER b. 23 Aug, 1810 NY shore of Lake Champlain (no town or county given) He removed to Onondaga Co, NY with his parents and lived there until manhood. (This could also include Cayuga, Oswego & Cortland Counties.) He worked on the Erie Canal as a very young man. He was trained as a Cooper and Farmer He could read and write and was said to be quite articulate. He voted for Andrew Jackson in 1832. He left Central NY and traveled west, supposedly alone, in 1835. He arrived in Lewistwon, Fulton Co, IL in November of 1835 and got a job as a Cooper. 3 Jan, 1839 he married Susanna WACHTAL in Fulton County. They had 10 children. George W.
