GA. 1860 federal census with his spouse Elizabeth Mary Birket and their daughters Mary and Sarah. Newel was killed in the second battle of Manassas on Aug 28, 1862, he served in Co I, "Thompson Guards," 61st Ga Inf Regt. From Bibb Co. Ga.
