Debby, I don't know if I have a connection but you might now. My great-great-great grandfather, Robert (Catholic church records give the name as Rupert, Rupertus) Miller (also used last names of Muller, Mueller, and Mu(with two dots over it)ller) came to Utica NY from Germany sometime between 1839 - 1843. He was living in Utica in 1843 when he married Anna Catherine Claesgens. From various records, he indicated he was born in Stetten Germany on the shores of Lake Constance on January 25, 1817. Unfortunately there are several Stettens in this area so are currently involved in the lengthy verification process with a cousin from Norway. Robert ended up in Carver County MN dying on August 17, 1887 in Benton/Cologne MN. I know it is a long-shot but this is the first Miller posting sharing at least some of the same possible information. If you think there is some possible match, I would love to share what I have on him.
