Johann Michael Miller m Susanna Bechtel m-2 Elizabeth Garber Johann Michael Miller m Irene Charitas, m-2, Anna Loysa Regina; after Johann died 1695, Anna Loysa Miller, in 1696 m-2 Hans Jacob Stutzman. They are believed to have lived in Switzerland and later in Germany. They had four children, only Johann Michael survived in Germany and in 1727 moved to America with his step-mother. Michael Miller & Susanna Bechtel m-2 Elizabeth Garber 1 (Hans) Johann "Michael" Miller b 10-5-1692 d 1771, m Susanna Agnes Berchtol (Bechtel) b 5-3-1688 d c1752, da Hans Berchtol & Anna Christina, m-2 Elizabeth Gerber, widow of Nicholas Gerber. They lived in Chester Co. & York Co.s PA and then Washington Co., MD. He sold his land in York, PA to his neighbor and wife's relative Samuel Bechtol and moved to land in Washington Co., MD. Here he was engaged in buying and selling land. He bought up many lots of land and resurveyed then, selling them to many of his children, step-children and others. These are believed to be their children. (A) (C) (E) 1-10 A Jacob Miller b 1735 d 1815 (A) (C) (E) 1-11 Eva Elizabeth Miller m Michael Danner (Tanner) b 1696 d 1777 as his 2nd wife. They had a son Johannes Danner christened 1745 and daughter Elizabeth Danner who married John Storm. In the graveyard of John H. Garber and Barbara Miller # 19 we find a Head Stone for Elizabeth Danner. It looks like 113 yrs old. We do not know if this is the grave of the 1/2 sister of Barbara or her mother who would have been about that old. This would connect Barbara to the family of Michael and Elizabeth. Deed of land "Range" from Michael & Elizabeth Miller - 1765 1-12 Maria Elisabeth Miller b 3-19-1754 is listed on the roll at Zion Ref/Lutheran Church in Lower Burmudian (Mt. Olivet) York Co., PA. Her parents are Michael and Maria Elizabeth Miller. Some of us think that they had this child after their marriage about 1752/53. She would have been only eleven years old when her father passed his land at Leitersburg on to his step -children. No record of her has been found. She may not have lived to maturity. The following are step- children of Michael Miller and children of Elizabeth Garber Miller. 1-13 Elizabeth Garber m Jacob Good Deed from Michael & Elizabeth Miller to Jacob Good - 1765 1-14 Samuel Garber b c1735 was the oldest son but still was a minor at the time of father's Will in 1748 Bought land on Beaver Dam Creek adjacent to Martin. He left his Will. Martin was his witness. 1-15 Martin Garber [Sr] b c1737 d between 1792 & 1804 m Anna Peston. He bought land of Jacob Danner Beaver Dam Creek - 1766 1-16 Anna Garber m John Rife (Reiffe) b 1724 d c 1787 Land Deed Michael & Elizabeth Miller 1765 to John Rife Research Gene Miller of CA did the original research in Germany and PA. He is a descendant of Philip Jacob Miller and has it in his book, David Y. Miller. When we began to write the Michael Miller book, we talked to him and he said that if we would spend more time in the records of MD and PA, he was sure that additional research would produce a lot more on this big family. We spent two years looking through more records and have presented them in our book. We were also helped a lot by researchers, Dr. Mary Lontz of PA, Roberta Herbert of VA and Jeanne Gentry of OR.
