Anyone who can help solve this mystery, please help! The first printed record that I can find of one Lewis Miller is where he married Lucretia Phillips in 1823 in Wilkes County, GA. Evidently he was a much older man and this may have been his second marriage to a much younger woman. They were the parents of four children, the oldest being, Lucinda Miller, who married William Green Gilmore, the son of John and Margaret Gilmore. In records of Georgia, Lewis was one of the fortunate draws (claiming Revolutionary Service) in the Ga. Land Lottery. Then his wife, Lucretia Miller, is listed a Revolutionary War Widow later in Georgia Records. NO ONE can find his Revolutionary Service! By 1840 Lewis Miller is evidently dead and in 1850 his wife and children are living in Early County, GA and in 1860, his widow and three of the children are living in Screvens County, GA. Any ideas from ANYONE would be appreciated. Thanks Louis kinfindr@telepak.net
