    1. [Miller] German Millers in Mo.,Tx, and Mi.
    2. Karen K
    3. I still look for my gg gradfather, Peter Miller. He was born abt. 1838 in Prussia according to two different census in Mo. In 1865 he married Dorthula Gibboney in St.Mary, Mo. This is a border city with IL. I do not know who his parents or siblings were?, but I would love to get a break one day and find something about them. His oldest child was Thomas Herbert Miller born in 1869 in IL. I do not know what city. I am just going by census information. His daughter(my g grandmother) was Lottie Mae Miller born in 1872. Dorthula Gibboney Miller died when the children were very young. By 1880 the census in Mo. shows that both children were given to two different households in two different counties(Wayne and Iron). My g grandmother had said that Peter Miller had left them to go back to Germany and never returned. However, I have found him on the 1880 census near the same town in Mo. as his daughter and working as a laborer on a farm. Also confusing is the fact that a descendent of the man's family that Lottie married into claims that she and her father and other Miller relatives lived in Fredericktown, Mo about 1890. I have found such a household in this city for 1900, but Lottie was married in 1896 in Mississippi Co. Mo. On the 1900 census she and her husband and her older brother, Thomas Herbert Miller, all live together in Charleston, Mo. By 1910 Lottie Miller Moore and her family had moved to Texas. However, Thomas Herbert Miller and wife Clara, and their children were still in Mississippi Co. Mo. until the 1920 census. By the 1930 census they had moved to Detroit, Michigan. My g grandmother had never mentioned him to any of us that are still alive. But we found her obit and it listed him as a survivor in 1945. Thomas H. Millers' children were named similar names to his sister's children, so I think that the names may have been family names. (Jeff Blaine, Sadie, Hazel, Herbert), and one more boy that I can't recall at the moment. I have not found any of Thomas Herbert Miller's descendents or any trace of his father. I have been looking steadfastly for 20 years. If anyone thinks that there may be some connection to their family, I would dance at my computer if you let me know of it. Have a Blessed and Happy New Year! Karen Moore Kerr __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Tired of spam? Yahoo! 3. Hi Dee; I believe mine were also German?Swiss. My John was one of about three or four John's in that area and time. He has been rather elusive in trying to pin him down as far as his ancestry. He was born ca. 1764, and was married to an Indian woman (some say Cherokee) his first five or six children were very Native American looking. He married Margaret Garrett b, 1767 in 1799 she is the daughter of Silas Garrett & Ann Nancy Young both of Laurens. John and Margaret had two sons together my Charles and Washington Miller. I have had tentative parents for John Miller and they may be John Miller SR. died 2-21-1814 and Sarah Anderson. Possible parents of John Sr. may be Hanse Miller and wife Susanna Zinn ?. Father of Sarah Anderson may be James Anderson d. 5-6-1783. Anything back past John JR. has not been proven. You would think there would be more SC & NC researchers as there were a lot of Miller's in that area. some moved on into TN. 1. [Miller] Miller family in Otsego or Schoharie, NY
    2. Marcy Jackson
    3. Hi Miller rooters, I'm looking for the siblings/parents of Robert Miller, b. abt 1814 probably in Otsego Co. NY, and married to Maria Nemire, daughter of Chester Nemire and Margaret Dingman. Robert and Maria lived and farmed in Fulton, Schoharie, NY from abt 1848 until their deaths. A candidate for Robert's father is Francis Miller, b. abt 1776, who was living with the Robert Miller family in 1850. Robert and Maria Miller's children include George W., John H., Margaret D., Levi C., Catherina A., Albert Noah, and Gilbert Riley. I would be more than grateful for any information or research suggestions. Thanks! Marcy

    3. Hi All: I've been sitting here just waiting for ANY of you MILLER searchers to mention CANADA. All my Millers came to Canada via Detroit (or nearby). They seem to have settled in or around Arkona Ontario, Canada. (that's Lambton County). My James Miller was born there in 1829. I conclude that he must have had a mom and dad. Now it's up to you guys to dig into your records and present it to me so I can quit looking!! I'm tared!(wife says it should read tired) Thanks and have a good New Year Jim Miller London, Ontario Canada.

    3. This is not the same Mary Ann. My Mary Ann married William Terry somewhere in Va. and then about 1826 they moved to Ohio, maybe Darke Co. and then about 1838 they moved to Fayette Co. Il. and lived the rest of their lives there. 3. Some of you ask for this information.....this is as we have it in our book.. Johann Michael Miller m Susanna Bechtel m-2 Elizabeth Garber Johann Michael Miller m Irene Charitas, m-2, Anna Loysa Regina; after Johann died 1695, Anna Loysa Miller, in 1696 m-2 Hans Jacob Stutzman. They are believed to have lived in Switzerland and later in Germany. They had four children, only Johann Michael survived in Germany and in 1727 moved to America with his step-mother. Michael Miller & Susanna Bechtel m-2 Elizabeth Garber 1 (Hans) Johann "Michael" Miller b 10-5-1692 d 1771, m Susanna Agnes Berchtol (Bechtel) b 5-3-1688 d c1752, da Hans Berchtol & Anna Christina, m-2 Elizabeth Gerber, widow of Nicholas Gerber. They lived in Chester Co. & York Co.s PA and then Washington Co., MD. He sold his land in York, PA to his neighbor and wife's relative Samuel Bechtol and moved to land in Washington Co., MD. Here he was engaged in buying and selling land. He bought up many lots of land and resurveyed then, selling them to many of his children, step-children and others. These are believed to be their children. We list the proof that we have and hope that you will help continue the search for more proof. 11 John Peter Miller b 1715 d 1794 Resurveyed Deed of Ash Swamp land - names Father (A) (E) 12 Hans Jeremiah Miller b 1717 d 1781 Owned land in Rapho Twp., Lancaster Co., PA (A) (D) (E) 13 David Miller b 1719 d 1785 David left his Will naming children - Washington Co., MD (C) (E) 14 Hans Michael Miller b 1720 d 1784 m Elizabeth __?__. Minister of Big Swatara church at Elizabethtown, PA (A) (C) (E) 16 Lodowich Miller 1724 d 1792 m Barbara __?__. Resurveyed Deed of Ash Swamp land - names Father (A) (C) (E) 17 Philip Jacob Miller b 1726 d 1799 m Magdalena Rochette Resurveyed Deed of Ash Swamp land - names Father (A) (C) (E) 18 Michael Miller II b 1728 d 1792 m Elizabeth Deed of land "Blindmans Choice" from Michael Miller & Elizabeth. He left a Will naming children. (A)(B) (C) (E) 19 Barbara Miller b 1733 d 1808 m John H. Garber. They had a son Johannes Danner christened 1745 and daughter Elizabeth Danner who married John Storm. In the graveyard of John H. Garber and Barbara Miller # 19 we find a Head Stone for Elizabeth Danner. It looks like 113 yrs old. We do not know if this is the grave of the 1/2 sister of Barbara or her mother who would have been about that old. This would connect Barbara to the family of Michael and Elizabeth. Deed of land "Range" from Michael & Elizabeth Miller - 1765 1-12 Maria Elisabeth Miller b 3-19-1754 is listed on the roll at Zion Ref/Lutheran Church in Lower Burmudian (Mt. Olivet) York Co., PA. Her parents are Michael and Maria Elizabeth Miller. Some of us think that they had this child after their marriage about 1752/53. She would have been only eleven years old when her father passed his land at Leitersburg on to his step -children. No record of her has been found. She may not have lived to maturity. The following are step- children of Michael Miller and children of Elizabeth Garber Miller. 1-13 Elizabeth Garber m Jacob Good Deed from Michael & Elizabeth Miller to Jacob Good - 1765 1-14 Samuel Garber b c1735 was the oldest son but still was a minor at the time of father's Will in 1748 Bought land on Beaver Dam Creek adjacent to Martin. He left his Will. Martin was his witness. 1-15 Martin Garber [Sr] b c1737 d between 1792 & 1804 m Anna Peston. He bought land of Jacob Danner Beaver Dam Creek - 1766 1-16 Anna Garber m John Rife (Reiffe) b 1724 d c 1787 Land Deed Michael & Elizabeth Miller 1765 to John Rife Research Gene Miller of CA did the original research in Germany and PA. He is a descendant of Philip Jacob Miller and has it in his book, David Y. Miller. When we began to write the Michael Miller book, we talked to him and he said that if we would spend more time in the records of MD and PA, he was sure that additional research would produce a lot more on this big family. We spent two years looking through more records and have presented them in our book. We were also helped a lot by researchers, Dr. Mary Lontz of PA, Roberta Herbert of VA and Jeanne Gentry of OR.
