Sue, Here is what is on the 1860 Census in Savannah: Jacob Miller Age in 1860: 69 Birth Year: abt 1791 Birthplace: Georgia (Country) Home in 1860: Savannah District 3, Chatham, Georgia Gender: Male Post Office: Savannah Value of real estate: View image Household Members: Name Age Jacob Miller 69 Caroline Miller 50 James Miller 25 Elizabeth Miller 20 Thomas P Miller 19 Virginia Miller 17 Henry P Miller 16 William J Miller 14 Charles J Miller 12 George M Miller 10 Martha Bancroft 57 Charles Cannon 30 James Hamilton 19 Benjamin Lebeck 28 Maxey Scott 22 William Baker 20 Thomas Edger 30 James M Jones 62 Henry M Calwell 35 Catharine Calwell 30 Ernest Pragerch 28 It looks like they had a rooming house. I believe Henry P Miller is Henry Purse Miller. He stayed in Savannah, I have a newpaper photo of him. He was one of the Hussars during the war. He died in Milledgeville which was an assylum. I have tried to find out if this Henry Miller is connected to my Savannah Millers, since the newspaper clipping came from the estate of one of them. They all belonged to the same church. Ann Miller Scott has done lots of work on the Washington co MILLER line. Licking co Ohio is where some came and are somehow connected to my John B. Miller who came to Licking co from Loudoun co VA, but according to census was born in PA. There are others who have worked on these Miller lines. Ann is librarian at PalAm in Columbus Ohio. I remember reading in articles on SW Pennsylvania that during and after the Whiskey Rebellion that families moved to KY., Miller families were among them. Possibly try the counties of Washington, Fayette, Greene and surrounding counties. Good luck. Ruth

Hello Miller Family researchers. I am looking for information regarding the man described in this biography. He is my gggrandfather. I am especially searching for his parents, siblings and any other information available pertaining to where they may have originated. I have some info that indicates earlier Millers were in New York. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Linda Ross Owings Okla. BIOGRAPHIES 1879 HISTORY OF GREENE COUNTY ILLINOIS Its Past and Present MILLER, ANSON, farmer, Sec. 21, P. O. Greenfield. Mr.. Miller moved to this State as early as 1818, in company with his parents, who came from Kentucky when Anson was about four years of age, he being born March 10, 1814; they located at Kincaid's Point, town 10, range 10; during his youth he thinks he attended the first school that was taught in this township; did not attend but about two years, all put together; after he was grown he contracted with John W. Hewitt three years; and in consideration of these services he was to receive two months' schooling, his clothes, and $100 in money, which contract was fully complied with by both parties. Mr. Miller was married Jan. 7, 1841, to Rebecca Mitchell; had one child, but died soon, his wife dying Sept. 9, 1843. He was married the second time to Mrs. Mary Allen, born Jan. 22, 1845, in Madison County. Mrs. Miller had five children by her first husband: Sarah C., born Dec. 10, 1847, since the wife of Elias Crane, died February, 1875; Andrew M., born May 1, 1849; now in Kansas. In the year 1871 Mr. and Mrs. Miller moved to Kansas; remained three years, and then returned; they are not satisfied, and will probably return as soon as circumstances will permit; they are now living at their home, three miles south of Greenfield. Mr. Miller and wife are members of the United Brethren Church. Mr. M. is very retiring in his nature, and has never sought publicity; has been long known by the people of this community, and respected by all who have known him.
