    3. Charles, thanks in advance for anything that you can provide. I am back to the 1780's, Ashe County NC looking for information on the parents of George Miller born abt 1780 in Ashe County. I know that his father's english name was Michael Miller married to a Katy Uzry. It is possible that Michael changed his name from Carmichael Mueller or some combination of the two. George had a wife Elizabeth Bumgarner born 1778. Again thanks for the help. 1. [MILLER-L] RE: MILLER brickwall
    2. Charles, Thank you for your willingness to help find those elusive Millers. I am seeking information on JOSEPH MILLER b. 27 March 1809 in possibly Uniontown, Fayette County, PA. Joseph died 29 July 1891 in Perryton (formerly Elizabethtown), Licking County, Ohio. He was married to Elizabeth Custer b. 9 May 1813 in Deerfield, Ohio. Elizabeth was the daughter of Jacob Custer and Elizabeth Leatherman. Elizabeth Custer died 2 November 1888 and is also buried in the Perryton Cemetery, Perryton, Licking County Ohio. The following children were born to Joseph and Elizabeth - all were born in Perryton, LIcking County, OHio: 1. Sarah "Jane" b. ca. 1830 - married a Swinehart 2. George A. b. 11 Oct. 1841 3. Amanda E. b. ca. 1843 4. Abner Thomas b. 31 Jan. 1845 married Mary Crow...Abner served in Co. F. 135th OVI and was taken prisoner at North Mountain, VA. and spent 7 months in Andersonville Prison. 5. Minerva Esther b. ca. 1847 6. Henry A. b. 1851 7. Rosealia (ROSA) b. 22 Feb. 1854 married A.J. Welch 8. David H. b. 14 Oct. 1855 married Cora Fleming...David H. Miller was a doctor in Newark, Ohio. 9. LebbeusDunn b. 11 May 1858 married Maud Bauer. I have had problems researching this line because there seemingly were two Joseph MIllers who came to the same area in Licking County at about the same time. One Joseph came from VA, and mine came from PA. Licking County records have the two intertwined. I believe there is a strong connection to the Custer family in Fayette County, PA. The grandfather of Elizabeth Custer was GEORGE CUSTER who resided in Fayette County, PA. George's son Jacob went to Ohio and it is possible that because of this connection, Joseph MIller went to Ohio and married Elizabeth. That is only speculation. According the the HISTORY OF LICKING COUNTY, the parents of Joseph Miller are GEORGE MILLER and an INFIELD (ENFIELD). I have never been able to find any concrete proof regarding that information. Joseph did name his first born son George, so it is quite possible that a George MIller was the father of Joseph. I have also not been able to connect my Joseph to Fayette County, PA. There were many George MIllers there at that time. ANY help with this elusive family would be most appreciated. They have been my brick wall for years. I was rather resigned to thinking that they had been sent back to the mother planet for refusing to make crop circles, and had just given up. Thank you for reactivating my interest. Sincerely, Kathy Mulvihill Tampa, Fla.

One of my brick walls is the parents of my grgrgrandfather, Andrew Jackson MILLER of Savannah GA. Andrew had a brother, Samuel S. MILLER, living in Thunderbolt GA. He married Elizabeth Forscht of York PA, in Savannah GA, on August 18, 1852 by the Rev. Lovick Pierce. They had: Clayton Pierce MILLER Preston Henry MILLER Georgia Elizabeth MILLER Thomas Jefferson Davis MILLER Robert E. Lee MILLER Andrew is buried in Westview Cemetery in Atlanta. Samuel S. MILLER's tombstone says he was born in York PA on February 8, 1822. He married Anna E. HENDERSON in Savannah GA, on January 21, 1851, by the Rev. J.E. Evans. They had: Mary Jane MILLER Strickland George H. MILLER Lillian E. MILLER Teressa L. MILLER Carpenter Elbie I. Miller Samuel is buried in Bonaventure Cemetery in Savannah GA. 2. Karen: You may want to look for your Peter Miller in Union County, IL. I know there was a German immigrant by that name who came from Pennsylvania with his brother. There was a huge clan of Millers in that area of Illinois. And it was not unusual for people in this county to cross the Mississippi to Cape Girardeau, MO area to marry, etc. Katy

    1. [MILLER-L] Anton>Amanda>Dodie> Missouri 1890s
    2. I have aquired some information that my g grandmother-Lottie(Charlotta) Miller and her brother T.Herbert Miller were born 1869 and 1872. They may have been raised by their father's sister. Their father was named Peter Miller and he was a german immigrant. He married a Missouri woman, but they had one child in the state of Illinois. Then they moved back to Missouri where Mrs. Miller died while the children were young. He probably gave the children to his sister, Amanda Miller who was married to Anton Schulte. The Schultes lived in Madison Co., Missouri and a man named Dodie Miller(brother of Amanda) lived in the house behind them. According to the taped memories of another ancestor, this Dodie was quite a drinker. Also there was a memory that Peter Millers mother was somewhere living nearby. Close enough to visit. Does anyone recognize this family? Karen Moore Kerr
