Barbara: Keep up the good work. Apparently some mistakenly think this list is just for their particular family line. In my opinion, as long as the message pertains to MILLER, it is appropriate here because it may be helpful to someone. I also appreciate you including the state in the subject line because it helps me quickly see if it pertains to my Miller family. Hi- There are a few people on this list who do not like seeing NY in their mailbox. I put NY in the subject so that it can be deleted if there`s no NY interest. This is a MILLER list and those 3 people should know that there are MILLERS` in NY also----AND--- there are other people on this list that DO have NY interests----I`ve also had thanx from them. I thought that surname mailing lists were to help each other share info, but If I have the wrong idea, then please, enlighten me, as I do not mean to offend anyone. For those with NY interests, especially Bklyn, here is a GREAT website: http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~blkyn/Bklyn.Info.Page.html have a good day, Barbara : ) BAUER, BEEKMAN, BEUSCHER, BLANKENMEYER, HOHLER, HURRINUS, KITTELBERGER, MILLER, ROLLMANN, SOFFEL, VETTER, WAGNER. Inc 1972 JACOB MILLER, retired farmer; P.O Poplar: Was born in Fairfield Co. Ohio, Oct 7, 1809, and is of German descent. His grandfather, Andrew Miller, possessed a large farm, and a fine mill property in Germany, which was destroyed by the army, during the war with France, and his two sons becoming subject to the "draft," although he had previously paid the sum necessary to clear them, he left eveything, and with his wife, two sons and a daughter, fled to America and settled a Hagerstown, Maryland. The family all died the same season, except Jacob, and he soon sfter came to Fairfield County, in this state, and taught school. He was there married to Barbara Burtner, who had come there from Pennsylvania, after reaching maturity. In March 1830, the family moved to Seneca County, where they lived until their death. Jacob, who is the subject of this shetch, was the eldest son, and his school life is embraced in two days' attendance. He commenced working out when quite yound, and himself earned the $100 with which his father entered 80 acres of land in Seneca County. He cleared this besides a great deal for others. He was married, onFeb. 25, 1831, to Phoebe Pennington, who was born in Virginia, and came to Seneca County in 1826. In Janjary, 1849, Mr. Miller moved to where he now lives, and where he and his sons have cleared some 200 acres of land. He has from time to time added to the original purchase, until he posessed mearly 1,000 acres; but a few years since, he transferred most of this to his children. His wife died April 9, 1875, having borne eight children, four of whom are living - Nancy, Lewis, George W. and Levi L. On march 2, 1876, he was united to Miss Nancy La Follet. She was born June 21, 1838, in Hampshire Co. Va. and came here in 1858. She has borne him two children, one of whom is living, named Howard J. Both he and wife are members of the United Brethren Church. He has always been a Democrat, and voted first for Andrew Jackson. --------------1F93BACA505AB703DEEBAC3C--
Re CLYDE MILLER of Illinois ... To Ron & Vonda - I too am researching the MILLERs of Illinois. And, I do have a CLYDE. "My" MILLERs centered around Danville, Illinois in Vermillion County. Are we on the same line? If so, I'll dig up my info and share. I'd love it if you'd do the same. Thanks and good luck! Joanne Miller

Taking to contact with any Miller family from Colebrook/New Lyme /Rome ,Ashtabula Co. Ohio. My Gg-grandmother Lucy B.Treat married Jarvis (also spelled Jarius) Miller in New Lyme,Ashtabula Co. 25 April 1844. Does ANYONE have a Jarvis Miller born 3 Oct 1821 in their line. Hello Everyone, I'm looking for anyone who might have a Stonewall Jackson Miller who died of Typhoid. I do not have a date or a place of death. I do however have a picture that appears to have been taken at about age 20 or so. Thanks for any help! Alinda M. Miller
Sue, I have good news for you...... Jacob G. Miller (b. 1786 in Hagertown, Md. and d. 1860) married Susanna Zimmerman (dtr. of Michael Zimmerman) and had the following children: Josiah, Hiram (b. abt. 1818), Aaron, Rosanna (Conrad), Caroline (Ferner), Louisa (Crissinger) and Rebecca (Donor). Adam Miller and Rosanna Kershner (dtr. of George and Mary Fenner Kershner of Hagertown, Maryland) were the parents of our Jacob G. Miller. They resided in Berlin, Somerset Co., Pa. They had the following children: Mary Polly (Weyman), George, Elizabeth (Alter) , Jacob G., Rosanna (Lichteburger), Daniel J., Josiah, and Miseltha (Metzger). Adam was born in Germany and emigrated to America (possibly in 1763 with Josiah Miller-either brother or father) and he died in 1827 (and Josiah died in 1823). Josiah was in the weaving and mercantile business and Adam's son Jacob G. Miller is listed in the 1850 census for Brother Valley, Somerset Co., Pa. as a weaver. Seems Rosanna is a family name! Hope all this information helps. I want to continue searching on who Adams father is. I suspect it to be Josiah because Adam was born in 1750 and Josiah had a dtr. Catherine born in 1751 who's son Jacob Weymand Jr. married Adam's dtr. Mary Polly Miller. I would love your help in searching out Adam's father. I've been advised to contact the Historical Society library in Somerset Co. for information on Adam Miller in that there is a Miller file on his lineage. Also, he owned the White Horse Tavern, and his home is a historical museum. I would like to know more about your lineage. Hiram Miller (brother of your Rosanna) is my ggreat-grandfather and he married Anna Mariah Metzger, and they had the following children: Anne M. L., Sarah E., John Leander, Alonzo H., and Clarissa (b. in Berlin, Pa). Your the 4th cousin I've meet in two days online from this family lineage. Its great. Happy hunting. Sorry, but I do not have any problems with Ancestry and have been a member for about 2 1/2 - 3 yrs. Patsy
I am posting this on every Rootsweb site to which I belong. Thats a lot, so you might see this multiple times. I am disgusted with the performance of Ancestry.com, have told them so, and hope you do the same. Maybe it will work tonight; maybe it wont. No data in the form messages, databases that appear to be empty but arent, links that go to the wrong area, slow or non-existent response, you name it. Lets barrage them! Their contact method is terrible, however.
My name is Pati Stone. My mother is Peggy Bernice Miller. Her mother was Pearlie May Townsend (born Nov 27, 1915 in Fannin County, Texas and died Aug 2, 1970 at Gainesville, Cooke County, Texas) and her father was Leo Edward Miller (born Dec 28, 1899 and died Dec 14, 1937 in Gainesville Cooke County, Texas). I have quite a very little on the Miller connection. From what I can discover, at the time of his death, Leo was married to a woman named Anna. They had a four or five year old son named Eric. She buried Leo in Fort Worth, Tarrant County Texas, and seems to have disappeared after that, as does Eric. It is definitely a possibiltiy that Anna married again, and her new husband may have adopted Eric. Leo had two brothers, one named Peck and one named Roy. He also had two sisters whose given names are unknown. His parents were J.D. Mattie (maiden name unknown) Miller. Any help on this line would be greatly appreciated. I have been up against this wall for a very long time. Pati Stone > Thanks, > Pati Stone
