I am looking for any information on Johnathan Dallas Miller. All I know about him is that he married Sylvina Culver abt.1867. They had 8 children which I have most of the names. They moved between N.Y. and PA. Some of the children were born in N.Y. and some in Pa. Sylvina died in Ovid N.Y. 1902 and if buried there. He used the name Dallas most of the time. GA. 1860 federal census with his spouse Elizabeth Mary Birket and their daughters Mary and Sarah. Newel was killed in the second battle of Manassas on Aug 28, 1862, he served in Co I, "Thompson Guards," 61st Ga Inf Regt. From Bibb Co. Ga. My Miller brickwall is my gg grandfather, Gideon T. Miller. I know he was born in Rhea Co., TN abt. 1830. His parents were James Pierce Miller and Charlotte Bell. By 1835 they are in Cherokee Co., AL. Other children at that time are Thomas Bell Miller (1826/TN), Robert Adam (1831/TN), and Elizabeth (1835/AL). By 1840 the family is in Benton Co., AR. In 1850 there is another child, Jacob David (1842/AR). I have found Gideon in court records in Benton Co., AR in 1861, but no where is he found in the 1860 census. He appears in the 1870 census in Craighead Co., AR and is married, wife-Sarah Ann ?? (1835/TN), children Robert B. and John Pierce (1868/TN) and Thomas Bell (1869/TN). Where he was between 1850 and 1861, and then from 1861-1870 is a mystery to me. It would appear that he must have returned to TN since his 3 oldest children were born there. Gideon T. and wife Sarah Ann remained in Craighead Co., AR until their deaths in 1895 and 1897. I have been told that Sarah Ann's surname may be GARRETT, but no proof of this as yet. I am searching for birth information on MARY JANE MILLER, m. John C. Haile23 Jan. 1868 in Caldwell Co., KY. Children, Hewlett Nichols Haile, Bethier S. Haile, Fannie E. Haile, and Charlie M. Haile. Posting my brick wall again. This is what I know. Joseph Miller born 24 Dec 1865. According to death certificate was born in New Orleans, LA; According to 1900 and 1910 census born in Arkansas. Died 5 March 1955 in Magnolia, Columbia County, AR was buried in Banks, Bradley County, AR married Millie Galveston Woolum in 1888 had three children. Minnie, Earl & Pearl. The last two were twins. Had a brother named Jim. What I know about Jim. Jim went to Texas to make his fortune, he must have gotten set because he sent for his wife. He had one daugther that I know of, her name was Opal and she was born in 1907. According to the social security informaiton on Opal her parents were James Jefferson Miller and Laura Alta Stone. Opal died in Altus OK. Now the frustrating part: one of my older cousins who is in his 70's received a phone call from one of Jim/James's descendants. All he can remember is that this gentleman was in Altus, Jackson County, OK. Family lore in both families puts Jim and Josephs' father as being Clell Miller. If this is true only way to prove it is by DNA testing because I was told by one of his neices there was no way possible for him to be their father, this due in part that no heirs stepped forward when he was killed. At this point in time I would at least like to get with the family in OK and compare note and get to know some cousins I did not know was out there. I'll take any other information that comes my way. Hoping to find someone with a connection to Guy H. MILLER, b. 16 June, 1889 in Fulton Co, IL; His father was Marquis Kelly MILLER and his mother was Amanda BURROWS MILLER. Hello everyone, I may have hit on a real lead to the search of my Miller's, Inparticular Jacob Miller. Someone sent me a partial Obit or death notice from a Newspaper: Markham Economist newspaper - 28 October 1869 Death - On 1 October at Markham township, death of Jacob MILLER, aged 83 years.   Emigrated with father from Connecticut, USA, spent a short residence in Niagara, and came to Markham in 1804.   Leaves 16 children, 12 still living, 72 grandchildren and 49 great-grandchildren. Does anyone out there have a Jacob that would have been in CT. In the early 1800s that would have been born around 1786 or so and if so do you Know if he had son's Abel and Warren. I just got the copy of the marriage cert. of Henry Miller and Mary Jansen they had her name wrong it was copied as Mary Johnson the dates are all right and so I now have to send for the death cert. of Henry Miller and a birth cert. of their oldest child Anna which may give me my Grandfather age and birth date or at least a starting point.
