    1. [MILLER-L] Re: [Pafayett-L] Nicholas Muller-abt. early 1700's

    3. Rick, When I was searching out my Hiram Miller's lineage, someone sent me information on the following family of Stark Co., Ohio, that was listed in an old family bible. However, this was not my Hiram which I discovered later. John and Elizabeth Miller had a son, Phillip Miller who married Matilda Howe of Pa. Phillip and Matilda Howe Miller's children were listed as: 1. G. D. Miller (son) 2. Rachael Miller 3. Hiriam H. Miller 4. Samuel W. 5. P.J. Miller (son) 6. E.R. Miller (dtr) 7. R.M.D. Miller (son) 8. Arretta Jane 9. C.J. Miller 10. Cyrus A. Miller 11. Roxy A. Miller 12. Abel K. Miller 13. N.G.G. Miller (son) Received an email from Pat M. on a John Miller (1818) and D.D. Miller (1822) that were brothers and may have some connection possibly to Phillip....I think their parent's names were John and Elizabeth of Pa. also but we never compared any further. There is some information on the LDS site on Matilda Howe but nothing on her children that I found. Don't know if this is helpful or not. There are so many Millers and they have alot of common first names that its hard to keep my two Miller lines straight just by memory. Wish I could help more. 3. Looking for information on Nicholas Muller of Gerhardsbrun (Sevabrichen) Bavaria Germany. One documentation "probably compiled by a family historian" listed Adam Miller or Adam Josiah Miller (b. 1750 in Bavaria Germany) as the youngest son of Nicholas Muller and Adam had emmigrated to America in 1773, and lived with his uncle Jacob Miller of Hagerstown, Md. Adam married Rosanna Kershner in 1779 in Hagerstown, Md. Would like to find more information on Jacob Miller, Adam's uncle of Hagerstown, Md., around 1773, and information on Nicholas Muller of Gerhardsbrun, Germany, Adam's possible father. Would also like information on Josiah Miller, father of Catherine Miller Weyand. Josiah Miller's grandson, Jacob Weyand Jr., married Adam's granddtr., Mary Polly Miller (probably formerly Mary Polly Miller-Wells). Any help on this family would be greatly appreciated. They settled at Detroit Tex., in Red River County. In 1907, Mr. Miller migrated to West Texas and lived at Snyder six years and Spur 10 years. First wife's name was we believe Malissie Brewer. The family was told Malissie died around 1903 and is buried in Paris, TX. The 1910 census was of no help, because there is wife listed, but is unreadable and my husband's grandmother said her mother was dead by then, and he hadn't remarried, at that time. They had a daughter Lena, b. 1901, TX. He was known as Jaycie or Charley. His second wife was Jeneva, called Jennie and she was from Paris, TX. We believe her maiden name was Blevins, and we know she had a daughter named Dolly who married a Perry. We have a copy of Abilene newspaper obituary which reads: <<Ex-Mayor of Jayton Dead--J.C. Miller succumbs to 12-weeks Illness--J.C.Miller, 59 year old former mayor Jayton, died here last night. He succumbed at 8:55 o'clock to a heart ailment for which the Kent county man had been receiving treatment at Hendrick Memorial hospital the past 13 weeks. Mr. Miller, a Mississippian who had lived in West Texas since 1907, operated a feed store and produce house at Jayton. His daughter, Mrs. W.Q. (Lena) Casey, of Abilene, has been a patient in the Snyder general hospital since June 8, recovering from a major operation. She was to be returned home today. Other survivors are his wife; a step-daughter, Mrs. W.G.Perry of Paris, TX; a brother Sam P. Miller of Jayton; two half-brothers, J.B. Miller of Wink, and B. M. Miller of Spur; his step-mother, Mrs. Austin Frasier of Spur, and two grandchildren. We believe that J.C.'s first wife Malissie could have been a Brewer because my husband has a small paper notebook with the dates of Sept. 11, 1900 through Sept. 12, 1901. There are various poems and notes that appear to be written by this J. C. Miller. In this book, he refers to his wife as Malisie and Malissie. There also seems to be a prose written by a W. H. (William Henry) Brewer at Pullman, Arkansas (Dealer in general merchandise). This Brewer addresses this prose to J.C. as his brother (could be bros.-in- law?) Because of this notebook, we believe he and Malissie lived in this area of AR or it could have been TX, depending on the state line disputes they had back then. There is also mentioned the name of Mother Groub........ On J.C. Miller's death certificate, which was never filed until we went to Abilene, TX and showed them our info---then they found some records and filed it, as we waited. Until last year, there was never a death certificate for him. From their records, it shows his father as P. Miller and Nannie Coppage.....MS. If anyone has any insight to any of these people.........would appreciate any and all leads. Thanks for your time...........Sincerely, Bev Casey - Tecumseh, OK

I really could use some help or advice ! 1830 Claiborne Parish, LA census ( the only MILLER on the census that I know is mine is Morgan Miller but they were all listed next to each other ) Frederick Miller 0200010000000--2010100000000 Micah Miller 0002010100000--0001000100000 Morgan Miller 1000100000000--0001000000000 Adam Miller 2002001000000--0120001000000 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ 1840 St Helena Parish, LA census ( think this is not the same Morgan Miller but I can't find any other in 1840) Morgan MILLER 2 males under 5, 1 male 30-40 1 female under 5, 1 female 20-30 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ 1850 Nacogdoches co TX census Morgan Miller m 37 KY Elizabeth 39 f IL John 22 m LA Gilbert 17 m LA Eliza (Elizabeth Jane) 13 f LA Lucinda 7 f LA Benjamin 14 m LA Sarah 6 f LA Rose 4 f LA Catherine 2 f LA ~~~~~~~~~~~~ # 326-288 1860 Limestone co TX Elizabeth Miller f 44 IL Sarah E. 16 f LA R.A. 14 f LA (Rose) Martha 12 f LA (Catherine) ~~~~~~~~~~~~ # 327-289 William Smith 22 m TX Lucinda 17 f LA ( Lucinda Miller) John H. 9/12 m TX ~~~~~~~~~~~ 1870 McLennan co TX Miller, Gilbert 42 m LA Miller, Matilda 31 f AL Miller, Elizabeth 63 f IL ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ George Levy , now deceased of Belton , Bell co TX was a gr. grandson of Morgan Miller. He stated that he had been told , Morgan and his sons John and Benjamin were hung as horse thieves . I can find nothing on this but I have never found them anywhere after 1850. Also, I lost Gilbert after the 1870 census. Elizabeth Jane Miller married Joshua Haworth WRIGHT in Anderson co TX 1853 . The Wrights lived at Gravel Hill , Williamson co TX where Joshua Haworth had a church. THe mother Elizabeth Miller was listed with them on the 1880 Williamson co census . Joshua , Elizabeth Jane and her mother Elizabeth Miller are buried in the Gravel Hill cemetery which was next to the church. I descend from James Joshua Wright, son of Joshua Haworth and Elizabeth Jane. My Wrights are traced back to the Quaker leader James Wright in 1600's. Thanks, Pat in Lawton, OK

My time is very limited so if I don't see something in the subject line that matches my interest, I immediately delete. I may lose information, but just as importantly the other person may lose some of my information. One thing that really bothers me is the following: [MILLER-L] Miller We all know that it is Miller if it is on this board. Anyway, sorry to take your time, just wanted to vent my pet peeve... 2. Dear MILLER researchers: It would be so helpful to some of us,if people would put a name, time frame, and location in the subject line when stating a query, or offering useful information. A location would help. I really appreciate the person with interest in NY state using the subject line. In doing so it shows consideration for my time and interest. It also helps other people to know if they have any information that may be helpful to you. I find that most people want to be helpful. I hope that you will consider this note as my trying to be helpful. Thank you for your consideration. Pat Hoffman Researching Jefferson Co TN & VA MILLERS (1700-1860)

    3. I also, have two brothers Jesse (b. 1838 in Indiana) and James (b. 1815 in Kentucky). I do not have the name of their parents, but the father is from Pennsylvania and the mother is from Kentucky. I found Jesse and James living near each other in the 1880 Census in Atchison County, Missouri. I also have Jesse in Atchison County, Missouri in 1860 & 1870 Census. Jessie's 1st marriage was with Rachaeal A. (Children: James D.). Jessie's 2nd marriage was with Clarah A. Smith (Children: Frederick George, Teresa, Anna, Norman, and Dora A.) I am a descendant through Norman. If you have any connection to this family, please respond.
