    1. [MILLER-L] Sarah Miller Funk
    2. Michael S. Beckley
    3. The 1820 Ohio census shows an Adam Funk in Muskingam County, Ohio. Subsequent marriage records in the same county show a Joseph Funk marrying a Sarah Miller in 1822 and another Joseph Funk marrying an Elizabeth Richardson later in the same decade. 1830 census records show two Joseph Funks in Muskingam County. 1840 census records show one in Pickaway County and one in Hocking County, Ohio. The one in Pickaway County is still there in 1850 and has various people named Richardson in the same household. The Hocking County Joseph Funk appears to be a widower in the 1840 census and he himself is dead by 1850. One of his children Mary Funk(my 2nd great grandmother) is in the household of a John Rose and Sarah Funk Rose in that 1850 census. Sarah Funk Rose would be the correct age to be one of Mary's older sisters and shares the first name of Sarah Miller Funk. Can anyone confirm or share more info about this Sarah Miller/Joseph Funk union or about the parentage of either individual? Thanks, Mike Beckley at msb@core.com

    3. Good morning Susan and Charlyne and all other who inquired about the siblings of Caleb Miller, I have listed here what was written in my g-g-mother's Bible. At another time I will post the births and deaths that are recorded there in hopes that it will help someone further. >From a handwritten list found in the Bible of Mary Elizabeth Miller Norris: Susanna Miller, daughter of Isreal and Lydia Miller, was born the 27th day of May 1800. Could someone mail me privately and fill me in on the preferred format for posting information and when it is appropriate to answer privately to a request rather than on the list? Thanks, Ramona

    3. I'm new to the list , so if I do anything wrong through my ignorance, please let me know... I'm trying to research a Caleb Miller b.31 Oct 1819, d. 21 Jul 1889. He married Mary Ann ? who was b. 25 May 1822 and d. 17 Oct. 1894. They married on 31 Dec 1846. Caleb's father was Isreal, his mother was Lydia. Caleb had 6 sisters and 5 brothers born between 27 May 1800 and 27 May 1830. Caleb and Mary Ann had 5 children born between 1847 and 1861. These names and dates came from a family Bible record. I have not yet confirmed any of it with legal documents. I find this family on the 1880 census for PeachBottom township, York county, PA. Living with them at that time as a 12 yr. old grandaughter was my great grandmother, Mary Elizabeth. She is in all family records as a MIller and I have her marriage certificate showing her 14 Jan 1886 marriage to John William Norris which took place in Dublin, Harford Co., MD. Mt family thought that Caleb's daughter, Lydia, was Mary Elizabeth's mother but then she wouldn't have been a Miller, so? The 1880 census listed her father as having been born in MD and her mother in PA. Well, I've rambled on enough for my first time. I don't know how much or little to include here. If you have any info on this family, I would be grateful for it and would be happy to share what I have on descendants. Ramona Norris

    1. [MILLER-L] Millers of SC with XL Immune Deficiency (X-Linked Agammaglobulinemia)
    2. Millers of SC with XL Immune Deficiency Posted by: Alice Stewart (AJStewart62@aol.com) This is a strange request but if there are any Millers who originated in SC/NC that have a rare XL Primary Immnune Deficiency gene in family, I would like to make contact because it is only passed down through families. A long shot, but it could be a short cut. << X-Linked Agammaglobulinemia is a primary immune deficiency disease that is passed on through female members of the family. It is caused by a defective X chromosome and while women are carriers, it is the males that suffer from illness if they inherit it from their mothers. There is no cure and deadly if untreated. My family lost many young boys to this disease before it was identified. My grandmother was a Miller before she married. By the way, I am African American but the disease affects any race. My gmother was mulatto. Don't know if this helps but look at the health of little boys born to mothers in direct descent. >> << Whenever I notice a line of Millers with heavy male casualty, I earmark it for further study. It also would have helped if I had known that the disease was in the family before the elders died out. But hey, I know it now which saves my grandson although I lost a great-nephew from it two years ago. If you hear of anyone else, keep me in mind. I just started in earnest this year so I have a long, long way to go. >> Thanks much, AJStewart My email address is AJStewart62@aol.com I am posting this for someone who is not on the list. I have no connection to these MILLERs, but I am doing her a favor. Please respond to AJStewart62@aol.com if you see a connection to your MILLERs

    2. Edward Tocus
    3. In 1797 Reverend David Badgley led a group of 154 settlers from Hardy CO VA (now WVA) to Illinois. I am trying to reconstruct the list of travelers. The surname MILLER has been associated with that migration but I have not been able to identify specific Millers who made the journey. If you know of Millers in Hampshire or Hardy CO VA ca 1780's or 1790's then have them turn up in Illinois (likely St. Clair or Monroe CO but other counties are possible) after 1790, I would like to hear from you so that together we can try to figure out what happened. Please contact direct. Thanks, Nora Tocus
