Found this on the Newspaper-Abstracts list. Rochester, Monroe, NY: Democrat & Chronicle July 6, 1903. ********** DEATH OF JOHN FAHY SHROUDED IN MYSTERY Webster People Excited Over Two Strange Occurrences on Miller Farm Amiel Miller and John Fahy Both Stricken in Miller's Barn Miller Delivers Milk at Forest Lawn and Went to Barn to do His Chores, Discovered on the Floor Unconscious by His Sister - John Fahy Sent for to Finish Chores Stricken in Same Place Shortly Thereafter, Also Found by Miss Miller - Miller, it is Expected, will Recover. Webster, July 5 - The residents of this town are much concerned about two strange occurrences that happened to- day. Amiel MILLER, a well known and respectable farmer living near Forest Lawn, went to the barn this morning, to feed his stock. MILLER furnishes milk to the residents of Forest Lawn, and he delivers it at a certain time each morning. While he was doing his chores his family was preparing breakfast. When breakfast was ready, MILLER did not come in, his sister seeing the cans of milk in front of the barn, went to call him. When she entered the barn she found MILLER lying on the floor unconscious. She called for assistance, and a summons was sent to Dr. NEEFUS, who is stopping at Forest Lawn. The doctor responded at one, and had Miller removed to his house. He could find no cause for MILLER's condition, and things assumed the mysterious. The doctor worked over Miller for some time, and finally pronounced him out of danger. The doctor then returned to Forest Lawn. After he had gone Miss MILLER sent for John FAHY, a neighbor, and asked him to come and finish the chores. FAHY came over and said he would lead one of the horses out to the pasture. Miss MILLER opened the gate to the pasture lot, sat waited for FAHY, who had gone in the barn after the horse. She waited some time, and when FAHY did not come, she went to the stable to see what detained him. When she looked in the barn, she was horrified to find him lying on the floor in nearly the same place she had found her brother. She rushed from the barn and a messenger was again sent in hot haste for Dr. NEEFUS. The doctor had just put out his horse, but he hurried back as soon as possible. When he reached the MILLER place he pronounced FAHY dead. He could find no apparent reason that would cause death, and was unable to or unwilling to give the cause of death. Coroner KLEINDIENST was notified and will hold an autopsy to-morrow. These two mystifying occurrences following each other in so similar a manner have aroused the whole neighborhood, and the country folk are flocking to the scene of the mysterious death. John FAHY has lived in the town of Webster nearly all his life. He is survived by four children. Mrs. Earl(?) BREWER, of Brighton: Mrs. Freeman(?) WALTER, of West Webster, and David and John, both of Webster.

Good morning Miller cousins, Here's the info I promised a few days ago from the Bible of Mary Elizabeth Miller . I currently have this Bible in my possession but it is owned by my brother, Laurence Leander Norris III, of Keyport, New Jersey. To begin... This Bible has very elaborate leather covered impressed and gold embossed covers with brass (?) hinges to close it. New Testament Scripture illustrations by Dore. On the cover is "Lydia W. Miller to Mary E. Miller" embossed in gold print. There is no copyright or publishing information that I can find anywhere. There is, however a footnote to the Bible dictionary dated 1872 and a couple beautiful lithographs copyrighted 1873. At the bottom of the title page is: Philadelphia Charles H. Yost Bible Publisher No. 1217 Market St. The first of the record pages is the marriage certificate: "This Certifies that the rite of Holy Matrimony was celebrated between John W. Norris of Harford Co., Md. and Mary E. Miller of York Co., Pa. on the 14" of January 1886, at Dublin Md. by Rev. T. E. Peters" The witness lines are blank. In the back of the Bible in a section for pictures is another marriage certificate. It states: "This is to certify that Mr. John W. Norris and Miss Mary E. Miller were solemnly united by me in the Holy bonds of Matrimony, at Dublin, Md. on the 14 day of January in the year of our Lord, One Thousand Eight Hundred and Eighty Six conformably to the Ordinance of God and the Laws of the State." The section "in the Presence of" is blank. It is signed "T.E. Peters Minister of the Gospel." This appears to have been filled in by the signer with the exception of the bride and groom's signatures which are different hands and appear to be original. There is a record page is for Marriages. They are written in what I believe to be my paternal grandfather's (Laurence Leander Norris) hand. He was the son of John Norris and Mary Elizabeth Miller. The entries are as follows: Marriages: Caleb and Mary Ann Miller Dec 31, 1846 Caleb Elmer and Marguerite Ortenberger Aug 15, 1914 John Wm NorrisJr. and Emma Nancy Ruff Apr 29, 1915 Laurence Leander Norris and Blanche Sides Sept. 17, 19(?) Hannah Mary Norris and Harry Beard married (no date) Bessie Elizabeth Norris and Carroll Cooper married (no date) Edna (Elmira ?) Norris and Orville Gehr married (no date) The "DEATHS" record page has the following entries. Only the first is written in the same hand as the Marriage Certificate page. I do not recognize the handwriting of any of the other entries on this page. Maggie May died July 28, 1896 John W. Norris died May 25, 1924 Hannah M. Beard died July 18, 1924 John W. Norris, Jr. died August 5, 1933 Mary E. Norris died Sept. 20, 1956 age 88yrs. Aaron A. Miller died Dec. 6, 1904 Lydia W. (Kone ?, Kane ?) died Oct. 17, 1916 The BIRTHS are recorded as follows. Only the first 8 entries appear to be in the same hand that wrote the marriage certificate entry: John W. Norris was born June 29, 1861 Mary E. Miller was born May 30, 1868 Caleb Elmer Norris was born Dec 6, 1886 John William Norris was born Sept. 17, 1888 Lawrence Leander Norris was born Jan. 3, 1891 Bessie Elizabeth Norris was born Oct. 3, 1892 Hannah Mary Norris was born Dec. 23, 1893 Maggie May Norris was born Jan 24, 1896 Edna Elmira Norris was born Oct. 18, 1906 Aaron A. Miller was born Oct. 6, 1873 Caleb Miller was born Oct. 31, 1819 Mary Ann his wife born May 25, 1822 NOTE: The following are from a handwritten list found in this same Bible. The handwriting is different from all other writing that appears in the Bible but it very early and elaborate. The paper itself shows age and foxing. Susanna Miller, daughter of Isreal and Lydia Miller, was born the 27th day of May 1800. Naomi Miller, daughter of Isreal and Lydia Miller , was born 13th day of March 1802. Rebecca Miller, daughter of Isreal and Lydia Miller was born 12th day of August 1804. Samuel Miller, son of Isreal and Lydia Miller, was born 25th day of February 1807. Lydia Miller , daughter of Isreal and Lydia Miller, was born 22 day of June, 1809. Joseph Miller, son of Isreal and Lydia Miller, was born 3rd day of November 1811. Jane Miller, daughter of Isreal and Lydia Miller, was born 17th day of Dec. 1814. Isreal Miller, son of Isreal and Lydia Miller, was born 13th day of November 1817. Caleb Miller, son of Isreal and Lydia Miller, was born 31st day of October 1819. Rachael Miller, daughter of Isreal and Lydia Miller, was born 30th day of March 1824. Worth Miller, son of Isreal and Lydia Miller, was born 14th day of March 1826. William Miller, son of Isreal and Lydia Miller, was born 28th day of May 1830. And on the reverse of the same paper: Joseph Miller died the 28th of June 1876. Another list found in this same Bible: Births Caleb Miller born Oct 3 -1819 Mary Ann his wife born May 25-1822 Lydia W. daughter of Caleb and Mary Ann born Sept 12-1847 Margaurette J Miller daughter of Caleb and Mary Ann born Jan 7-1852 Martha Miller daughter born Mar 24-1854 Rebecca Miller daughter born Oct 28-1856 Annie (Anice?) Miller died Aug 24-1923 At the page bottom the following is written: Copied from Aunt Anice family Bible-Aug 17-1940 L.L.Norris This is all the information in the Bible. I tried to be complete and accurate in my descriptions - perhaps more so than necessary. I did proofread everything and there are a few odd spellings that are not mine but may be my interpretation of the various handwritings. I hope there is something of value here for someone and if I can clarify anything please do not hesitate to email me privately. There are many Millers posted in Migrations. Although I didn't find my Morgan Miller, it may help others . http://www.migrations.org/index.html
To <Jessie@netheaven.com> Re: Brothers and Sisters of Caleb Miller Israel and Lydia MILLER's daughter Lydia, number 5 on your list, born 22 June 1809, almost fits with one of my deadend MILLERS. My great grandfather JESSE MILLER was born in 1838 in Yates Co., N. Y. to LEONARD MILLER and LYDIA MILLER (no known dates). This LYDIA MILLER, however, was reported to have been born in Va. not Pa., although the dates would fit. We do know that LEONARD was born in Pa. from JESSE's entry in the 1880 Ohio Census. Are they t he same persons?? Who knows!! Herb
