    3. Posted on: Miller Queries Reply Here: http://genconnect.rootsweb.com/gc/FamilyAssoc/Miller/10809 Surname: Miller, Covert, Cathey ------------------------- Hi, I am looking for information on Millers who lived in the Paola, Osawatomie area of Miami County Ks. in the middle to late 1800's. Specifically Anson Miller b. 10 March 1810, and wife Mary, b. 17 May, 1816. Have found their grave sights in Ks. but am looking for info farther back from them. Info I have is that their son Andrew was born in Illinois and previous generation is from New York. No names available there. If anyone has info on this branch of the Millers I would appreciate hearing from you. E-mail at owings@ilinkusa.net

    3. -----Original Message----- From: ron stone [mailto:blueoak@ix.netcom.com] Sent: Friday, May 11, 2001 12:05 AM To: Mike Bolding; MILLER-L@rootsweb.com; Maryacats20@yahoo.com; kwebb14880@hotmail.com Subject: {not a subscriber} Re: James "Walking Jim" Miller Mike, It's good to have some mail from you waiting. Please let me make some corrections to a bit of your information... or at least I believe them to be correct. First, I believe the name was Ailey Adaline Miller Bolding ... Ailey the first name rather then Adaline. Second, I think I sent Mark a copy of a narrative from Aunt Alice about her grandmother Ailey. It looks like you have read it or heard of some parts of it from your comments here. Ailey's sisters are mentioned by name in that narrative , and so is the brother who was so unfortunate as to accidentally kill his stepmother with the batted ball. As I recall , Ailey was originally engaged to Joe Woolbright. He was in the Confederate Army and was reported killed in action. Ailey later married Andy. Lo and behold , Joe shows up.. rumors of his death having been greatly exaggerated, to take a phrase of a famous wit... Joe Woolbright then marries one of Ailey's sisters. Names are in the narrative by Alice. They (Joe and the sister) relocate to Texas. That is where the missing brother recognizes sister . I wish I could get to the material in my crashed computer, to add some more. Your brother Mark and I were in contact with another Bolding descendant out here, her name is Betty ... and I am having a senior moment as to her last name for right now .. but I know Mark and Betty corresponded, so he would have it. Alice said that Ailey told her that her father Jim or James Miller was a full Cherokee if I remember it right. The first reference to him having a nickname , i e.. "Walking" was when Mark scanned and sent me the tintype about the time we first made contact. I haven't run into that nickname in any of the OK Boldings I have contacted otherwise. I think you should look at the 1860 census for Franklin Co, and the same for 1850, if I don't miss my guess, there are Miller and Bolding families there that we would recognize. I will have to stop with this one reply tonight as it is late as all get out here. I will look at all this correspondence and see if I can chime in on some of the others too. I was amazed at how much you have sent and I will read it and save it to a floppy so that I can look at again and so it doesn't get lost in another crashed computer. thanks .... ron ----- Original Message ----- From: Mike Bolding <mbold1@hotmail.com> To: <MILLER-L@rootsweb.com>; <Maryacats20@yahoo.com>; <kwebb14880@hotmail.com>; <blueoak@ix.netcom.com> Sent: Thursday, May 10, 2001 3:15 PM Subject: James "Walking Jim" Miller > I am looking for other desecendants of this man Jim MILLER. 2. I too received a cryptic e-mail referring to an inquiry I had sent the MILLER Rootsweb website. I didn't recognize the sender and therefore hesitated to download the file. Eventually, however, my curiosity got the better of me, and I downloaded it, but only to find that I couldn't open the file, possibly because I have a MAC. Probably a lucky break for me. After reading all the warnings today I dumped it. If this file was indeed on the level I would appreciate it if the sender would contact me again. Herb

Miller and Belle (Isabel) Parker. They had 11 children, 9 boys and 2 girls. Any connection to any of you? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated! Thank you. Joanne Miller
