    1. [MILLER-L] School Photograph including MILLER Family member
    2. Shelley Cardiel
    3. I've "rescued" an old school photograph which appears to have been taken in Connecticut on August 22, 1895. The photograph includes classmates, teachers, and the school principal. The students all appear to be in their teens at the time the photograph was taken. The handwriting on the back is difficult to read but looks like "MB -C.C.F. by do. + advice C.S. BUELL Aug 22 -95" "Alida's WMED '94 Class in part + teachers at "Katapansis" + others". Then all 22 subjects in the photograph are listed: L. FITCH Jas. L. FITCH Miss Alice GREEN Miss TURNER (Teacher) Miss RUDD Miss Ruth DARROW Miss Minnie DECKER Mrs.(Minnie V.E. MILLER)LESTER Mr. BUELL (prin.) Miss CROFTON (Teacher) Miss Ruth HAZORD Miss Charlotte CRANDALL Miss Maud RYLEY Miss Susan CONE Miss Alida S. FITCH Miss Hattie E. HEWITT Miss Belle DENISON Miss Louise JEFFREY E.B. FITCH Addie FITCH Bessie FITCH Miss Gertie RYLEY Based on limited research I believe that the group was probably from New London, Connecticut since I find many of these same names there including: Alida S. 3. -----Original Message----- From: Rex [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Tuesday, January 06, 2004 10:31 PM To: [email protected] Subject: Pictures from 1939 Oregon newspaper During a remodel, I found several 1939 newspapers in moderate condition from Portland, Oregon. Below is a list of surnames of the individuals whose photos appear among the 280 odd pages that I found, followed by the names as shown in the picture caption. You are receiving this email because you are the administrator of a mailing list for a surname that appears in my newspapers. If you wish to forward this email to your surname list, I will respond to all inquiries as time allows. I will take a digital photo of the picture, and email a low resolution version (approx 30- 80 KB) to any interested parties. This can be followed by a larger file/ higher resolution photo if requested. As of June 1, 2004, I will snail mail parts of these newspapers to all persons who prepay postage and handling for the item requested, on a first paid, first shipped basis. I believe these newspapers to be available in microfilm/fiche, so all unclaimed pages will find another home at that time. There are pages available from: The Sunday Oregonian Sep 17 1939 The Sunday Oregonian Oct 6 1939 The Sunday Oregonian Oct 15 1939 The Oregon Daily Journal Sep 16 1939 The Oregon Daily Journal Sep 20 1939 The Oregon Sunday Journal Sep 24 1939 The Oregon Sunday Journal Oct 15 1939 The Oregon Sunday Journal Oct 8 1939 The Oregon Daily Journal Oct 12 1939 The Oregon Sunday Journal Oct 15 1939 The United States News Sep 18 1939 American Weekly Apr 30 1939, and other unknown dates for 1939 First is an alphabetical surname list, followed by the full names list as they occur in the un-sorted stack of papers. 1. [MILLER-L] George Theodore Miller b 1837 Chester PA & Albert Miller b 1842 Harford Co MD
    2. Happy New Year to Everyone! I thought I would start the New Year out by searching for ways to break down my brick walls. I feel fortunate that last years I made some tremendous progress in at least 3 lines and started off my new year with I a definate find on one family that branched into family. Im hoping for the same with some of my lines that just seem to stop. I have a George Theodore MILLLER b 1837 in Chester PA who married Mary ElizabethANDREWS in 1859 in Harford Co, MD and another MILLER family Albert MILLER b.1842 who married Sallie Ann BRANNON 1865 in Harford Co., MD George & Mary's Children: John William Ruth Adelaide Mary "Molly" Charles Hary Fredine Cornelia Bell Laura Roberta Albert and Sallie's Children: Fannie Belle Annie Charles George and Albert are my childrens great great great grandfathers one thru the great great grandfather John William Miller, and one thru the great great grandmother Fannie Belle Miller, And no we dont yet know if they were somehow related.... I am searching for the birth parents of George Theodore MILLER and Albert MILLER as well as any siblings they may have had. Im sure that sometime after the birth of George Theodore MILLER his family moved to Harford, MD , if Albert would be a brother he was born after the move to Harford, MD. These men could also be cousins, or no relation at all, just coincidence that they lived in Harford at the same time. Any help I can get on this would be great. I have seen the 1880 Census and the information in the bible of Fannie Belle Miller was sent to me by her grandson. I have many photos generously shared with me and much information on the children of these couples and spouses of their children but nothing on their birth families. Any publications that anyone would be willing to share information from or older census records would be great, Im guessing that George T. might even have information in the Chester County Historical Society, at least a birth and maybe that would lead to his parents. Someday I plan to go there, but cannot at this time. Would anyone have this family in their lines? Thank in advance for anything you might be albe to help me with. Take care, Vickie

    1. [MILLER-L] Miller family in Alabama (Barbour Co.) 1850
    2. Scott Miller
    3. Hello, I'm inquiring as to if anyone has any information on a Miller family listed in the 1850 Barbour Co. Alabama census, page 122-B, image 30 of 360: William Miller 44 m NC Arta 25 f SC Salma 13 f Ala Cinthia 11 f Abraham 9 m William 4 m Thomas 6 m Riney 3 f Epsey 2 f I'm looking to see if this is the family of William Miller who married Nancy Yawn (Yon) on 3 Apr 1862. They can be found in Holmes Co. Fla 1870 on page 11, then in Walton Co. 1880 page 454-B ( image 24 of 50 ). I was recently informed that William may have had a brother named Abraham and sister Lucinda ( which I assume "Cinthia" is a pet form of the name). Lucinda married William Glass in 1858 in Barbour Co., they also went to Holmes Co. I'm trying to verify this connection and any information is greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance, Scott Miller
