    2. Dolores Miller Pringle
    3. I have MILLERS who went from SC to KY and then to LA - Claiborne Parish, specifically. George MILLER and wf. Mary left Old Pendleton Dist., SC, w/ all their chidren except son Isaac, Sr. (my ancestor). George and Mary had two sons Michael and Morris who married two BOREN sisters, daus. of John - Margaret and Catherine, respectively. Morris and Catherine had 11 children, among them a dau named Catherine. They had only four sons: Manning, Isaac, Jackson, James. Michael and Margaret only had one child that I know about and that was son John MILLER. I would guess that your Morgan is a desc. of these MILLERS. John MILLER, son of Michael and Margaret, was named for his maternal g'father, John BOREN, who also came fr. SC to KY. Your Morgan MILLER's son John may also be named for him. Morris and Catherine Anne BOREN MILLER also had a dau named Eliza. Lots of the same names and places. I wish I could definitely help you with this, and I may have some more info. Certainly, write me if you would like all of what I do have. God bless, Dolores Miller Pringle - maybe your long-distance cousin! ----- Original Message ----- From: "Pat" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Sunday, January 18, 2004 8:55 PM Subject: [MILLER-L] Morgan MILLER. lost after 1850 Nacogdoches co TX census > Hi Charles, > > I will gladly ask you about MILLERS :) > > Morgan Miller b KY ca 18103-10 , found first in Claiborne Parish LA > 1830/40. 2. Steve Miller
    3. Charles -- Thank you for making this offer. I am looking for information of Stefan Mueller (or Stephan and/or Miller... transliteration being what it is!). He was born Sept 8, 1854, in the village of Schmeil, [Austria], and died Feb 23, 1914, in New York City. His father was "Mueller, Stefan, tailor of Schmeil"; his mother, "Mueller, Theresa, daughter of George Klein, laborer of Schmeil." This 1880 "Birth and Baptism Certificate" was probably prepared in anticipation of his emmigration. It further discloses that Schmeil was in the Crownland of Moravia, the Political District of Liebau, and the Diocese of the Town of Liebau. He married Anna Kopic, born June 20, 1854, in Cerkanov, [Austria.] She was the daughter of Joseph Kopic, peasant of Cakanova, and Anna, the "legitimate daughter" of Martin Dockala, peasant of Lhoty. Cerkanov was in the province of Bohemia, county of Czaslau, and the political district of German Brod. The copy of her Certificate of Baptism was made in the municipal office at Krasny Hora, March 15, 1878. (Where Stefan's is written in German, hers is written in Hungarian.) Anna Mueller died in Brooklyn, NY, (recorded: Müller) April 18, 1936. She and Stephan had 6 children: Stephanie (known as Fanny), Stephen, Lucy, Arthur, Alfred, Lillian and May (also known as Mary). Stephen was my grandfather. Likely born in 1886, he married Elizabeth Frances Peiser. They had one child, my father, Charles Stephen Miller. This is pretty much the sum total of what I know of my Millers. Apparently, there was some sort of schism between my grandfather and his siblings, though there continued some contact over the years with "Little" Lillie, Lillian's daughter. In fact, it's through her that I have even these records. Hope this looks familiar to someone out there, or that suggestions for further productive avenues of research will result from this posting. I'm not so much interested as in going backwards as finding the offspring of my great aunts and uncles! Steve On Jan 18, 2004, at 9:39 PM, [email protected] wrote: > Cold outside! 1. Re: [MILLER-L] Bunch of MILLERs will do look ups in my stuff
    2. Hello, list members! So many Millers, yet none so far seem to be MY Millers. They were probably Scottish or Scotch-Irish, lived in KY, perhaps in NC and SC, ended up as Missouri pioneers. Samuel Miller, spouse Margaret Sloan and their family came from KY to Cooper County, MO, c 1820, with a party connected to Finis Ewing, early Cumberland Presbyterian minister. They moved soon after to Pettis County MO. In 1836-38 most of the family including at least 5 sons moved to the newly opened territory along the Kansas border that became Andrew County. They lived and farmed around Savannah, MO. William A. Miller, one of Samuel's sons, served on the Missouri Constitutional Convention, was a state legislator and chaplain of the legislature. He was a candidate for Congress at the time of his death, which occurred March 2, 1847. He was my great, great, great grandfather. His wife was Agnes Chelly Mitchell. Her father, Captain Thomas Mitchell, removed to Missouri in 1814 when it was a territory. The family lived for three years in Coles Fort. One of the sons of William and Agnes, Fleming Mitchell Miller, was a Cumberland Presbyterian minister of some note. "Mitch" was my gg grandfather. I know some of the history of this family SINCE Samuel and would be happy to share what I have. But I know little about the family BEFORE Samuel. Samuel's father was William Miller (some think) of Edgefield, SC, moved to NC, and died in KY. William's father may have been Ebenezer Miller of Edgefield, married to Mary Deacon or perhaps Mary Reed/Reid. There the trail ends for me. I'd be happy if someone could confirm or debunk William and Ebenezer. I'd be extremely happy if someone could give me a clue about Ebenezer's father, his father's father, etc., etc. Of course, any more detail about this family in any era greatly appreciated. But I'm currently trying to find "the immigrant." Nice to see this list come alive!! Good work, Charles. It's cold here too, but I warmed up by running the snowblower most of the afternoon. Tom Miller (Thomas Cook Miller)

    1. [MILLER-L] Miller, John, ca 1780, VA and wife Martha, ca 1783, VA
    2. genealogy_love
    3. Help please - I'm searching for my own elusive line of Millers. My John Miller was born ca 1780/82 in VA (per all census). He died between the 1860 and 1870 Census in Maries County Mo. His wife, (per all census), was Martha, b. ca 1783, VA (per all census). Martha died between the 1850 and 1860 census. In 1840 and 1850 he was in Pulaski Co MO, a parent county to Maries. He had two daughters - Mahala Jane, b. ca 1813 in TN, who married Stephen Crismon; and Martha Jane, b. 23 Jan 1826 in TN, who married William L. Crismon 7 Feb 1841 in Pulaski Co MO. Martha Jane died in 1903 at Catoosa, OK where she was living with her children. Both Maries and Pulaski have had devastating courthouse fires since the time of John's death (Maries 1868, Pulaski 1903). I have not found any available records on John or Martha. The birthplaces of the daughters shows a time spent in Tennessee, but where in TN? Young Miller men living in the Maries/Pulaski area at the same time were: Joseph b. ca 1828 KY, wife Malinda. Raleigh/Rolly C. b. ca 1807 TN, married Dorcas Davenport Rolly, b. ca 1823 TN John ca 1818 TN John ca 1800 TN, wife Nancy James b. ca 1821 TN, wife Desdemonia William B. b. ca 1809 TN James b. ca 1815 KY Are any of these children of John. I believe that at least one of the Raleigh/Rolly must be as Martha and William Crismon named their only son Rolly. Does anyone recognize these families. Can you prove or disprove their relationship? Hoping to hear from someone on this line. Judy

    2. I am looking for info on my ancestor, Risdon (Rysdon) Miller born around 1851 in Ohio and married Emma Jane Steavidson born around 1856 also in Ohio. They were married January 7, 1872, in Randolph Co., Indiana. They apparently moved to Logan County, Indiana, and are listed there on the 1880 Census as living in Bloomfield Twp. They lived in Jacob Sherer's household. It also shows a child by the name of Arabella Miller born in 1875. In the 1900 Census he is living in Lake Co., Michigan. 1910 Census he is living in Crawford Co., IL He children are as follows: Oscar E. Miller, Maud Miller, Martha Alice Miller, Iva P. Miller, and Arabella Miller Iva married Harry Boynton and she died in 1974 in Grand Rapids, Kent Co., MI (Estelle and Beatrice their known children) Maud married someone by the last name of Johnson and had a son named Willard. Martha married William H. Bonham in Baldwin, Michigan (I descend from this line) Oscar b. 1879 married Ariadna (Edna) Their children are: Rayburn R., Earl, Aria, Dolpha M., John, Russell G., Clara, Clarence, Laverne, Betty L. (All children were born between 1904 and 1929) Rayburn married Gladys and he died in Osceola Co., MI in 1980 (Known children Kenneth R. b. around 1927 and Virginia b. around 1928) Russell lived in Lake Co., MI and died in Manistee Co., MI in 1990 If anyone has any knowledge of these individuals, please contact me. They have been my deadend for sometime. You would think that a name as uncommon as Risdon would be easy, but it has been most difficult. Thanks. Peggi Lampton Jeffcoat [email protected]
