    3. My brick wall at this time is Ralph Walter Miller, born Jan 1892, Antelope Co., NE. His mother died in childbirth and he was sent to live with his maternal grandfather, James P. White, in Chickasaw Co., IA. The 1900 fedcen shows them in Bremer Co., but James White's obit shows him dying in Chickasaw Co. My last indication of Ralph is the 1925 Charles City, IA city directory showing him and wife 'Marchie'. Harley L. Miller

    3. My brick wall is Barbara Miller, wife of Frank Petr, mother of my grandmother, Marie Petr Baldik Fry. All I know for sure is that my grandmother, Marie was married in Prague to Frank Baldik in early 1911. She had been schooled in a convent there and was 18 yrs of age at the time of her marriage to Frank, who was 10 yrs older than she. Frank Petr was an architect there in Prague, and there are many buildings still standing with his name on them. Barbara died during World War ii in Choteau County, Montana, but I haven't been able to find any information on her other than that. it's possible she was of German ancestry. Frank Baldik came from Moravia. Joanna Hamilton

    3. My second brick wall is JOHN B. MILLER. His wife was Margaret, maiden name unknown. He may have been born in PA (census). Their children were all born in LOUDOUN CO, VA, Shelburne Parish, re son Charles Miller's marriage record. Children were John, Charles, Elizabeth, James, and possibly an Emily Blakely. She was listed as a second family with a small child in 1850 Licking Co, Ohio census. There are 3 John Millers in the Lickingh co OH 1840 census, all in the neighborhood, so that's no help. I suspect a tie-in to the Washington co, PA. Miller line. Abraham Miller moved to Licking co, OH. His son, Abraham, who did not have descendants, was called Uncle Abe by my family. Any suggestions, theories, or help would be very much appreciated. Margart Calvin in SE Ohio. Good to see the Miller list come to life.

    1. [MILLER-L] George H. Miller (1834-1907)
    2. Wow! This list has really been energized, so it seems like a good time to repost my Miller line of interest. I am one of a group of cousins (several of whom are members of this list) who are researching the ancestry and descendants of: George H. Miller, b. 22 Apr 1834 in Rockingham Co., Virginia; d. 1 May 1907 in Logan Co., Illinois. George H. Miller's parents were Henry Miller and Elizabeth Brock. Henry was 68 years old as of the 1880 census, so he was born about 1812. Family lore says that Henry came from Germany as a boy with his father, Jake Miller (Jacob Mueller?), and settled in Pennsylvania. However, the 1880 census gives Henry's birthplace as Virginia, and his father's birthplace as Pennsylvania. George H. Miller had three siblings: William (probably b. abt 1837), John, and Elizabeth. The family appears to have moved to Henry Co., Indiana prior to William's birth. George H. Miller m. Mary Jane Tomlinson in Henry Co. on 16 Aug 1855, and their first ten children (William J., Nathan E. & unnamed twin, Zadock Noah, Joseph Henry, Sarah Ann, Oliver Perry Morton, Flemmon S., Emma Elizabeth, and Eldorado) were born there. George H. & Mary Jane Tomlinson Miller removed to Wayne Co., Illinois in 1871, accompanied by George's brother William (and family) and by his father Henry, now apparently a widower. George and Mary Jane's last two children (Carrie Belle and Hattie Mae) were born in Wayne Co. In 1886, the entire family (including the married children) relocated to Logan Co., Illinois. George's father Henry, however, returned to Indiana (to live with John or Elizabeth?), where he died abt 1908 at the age of 96. I invite anyone with information on or an interest in this family to contact me. We are working to compile a complete register of all descendants of George H. Miller and Mary Jane Tomlinson, and we are hoping to present a report on this project at the Miller reunion in Warrensburg, Illinois in June. We are also seeking more information on George's siblings and their descendants, and we would like to beat down some brick walls and acquire some solid data on his parents and grandparents. Guy I. Colby IV Irving, TX

    2. Charles (and others) I am searching for the parents of Abraham Miller, born 1804-1805, Randolph County, (W) Virginia and married Jane ?. They married in Randolph County, had children in Rockbridge County, Virginia, and spent their final years in Gilmer County (W) Virginia. Census reports indicate Abraham's father was born in Virginia and Jane's in Penn. Any information on this family's ancestral history will be greatly appreciated. Gary
